Great. That means CDN and UK and Australian newsstand versions too, right?

Sending to CGC to remove restored comics

I've never heard any stories about them losing books at the facility (not to say it hasn't happened), but if they had, it would be a huge reputational blow to their service. Any issues I've read about 'losing books' seem to be around shipping.
There are different levels of restoration. If your books have 'slight' restoration, then you may be better off having the resto removed in terms of resale value. With professionally restored books, it should be able to remove the resto without damaging the book. If the resto is more extensive or includes things like staple replacement, you may not want to touch them.

It's called 'distributor overspray', I believe it was used to determine which area the books were sent to for newsstand returns.

Another of a growing list of What if? ideas that eventually became an actual part of stories in the ongoing titles, the first one being the What if Spider-man's clone had lived in issue 19 (if I remember correctly).

I disagree that they sell quite often more than direct. Most collectors just want the book, be it direct or newsstand. I will say there are more wanting to collect newsstand than before but not a huge amount care if it’s direct or newsstand.
Newsstand & Whitman are more difficult to find in nice shape, so there doesn't have to be a huge amount of people who care.
This myth that collectors don't care was started by Overstreet so they wouldn't have to double their number of listings in their price guide.
It's perpetuated by lazy price guide admins so they don't have to increase their workload to track it.
The lack of effort to track the price differences ultimately results in the suppression of those price differences.
Collectors do care.
Mile High Comics saw the opportunity to cater to the public demand for Newsstand versions. They price Newsstand versions more accordingly.
I strongly disagree with your assertion, so we are in full agreement to disagree.
Sales on Ebay also show that some newsstand versions sell for more than their direct market counterparts. I think the only time there isn't much difference between the two is for more common issues that generally aren't worth much to begin with.
That linked Overstreet article is from the tenth price guide -- almost 40 years old. I don't think it's relevant anymore at this point (not directed at Defiant1). Things change and the market dictates these changes, not what people necessarily want to believe.

There were two versions of this that came out. One was prestige format (card stock cover) and the other was a regular news-print glossy cover. I had both when they came out. Viktheking shows the newsprint cover and collectibleshop shows the prestige format version's cover.

What is Wolverine's first appearance?

Even if 180 were to be recognized as his first appearance, the market would likely still put more value on 181 because he's in the entire issue and it has a great cover. It's the same with Venom, who first appears in ASM 299, but it's 300 that everyone wants to own.
As an aside, when I was younger, 180 was the more valuable book. My No. 11 Overstreet Price Guide has 180 at $12, and 181 and 182 at $5.75.

There's ways you can do this in Excel.
For the grade to numerical value, you could sort the results by the grade value and then replace them with the corresponding numerical value. You can also use this sort to identify which books are under a certain grade, as they'll be sorted in grade order.

Bagged comics are like Schrodinger's Cat. The comic in the bag could be in any condition between 2.0-10, but the grade can only be determined once someone looks at the book itself.
I've never understood why so many people think that a bagged comic would automatically be in ultra-high grade. Hold the book by the bottom of the cover and flop it back and forth -- does it bend at all? Sure it does. Damage can still occur inside a flimsy plastic covering.

I also enjoyed Earl’s thread back in the day. Earl did a lot of things for the site that was beneficial for us. He did a bunch of scans of books and I remember the site kept count of scans people did for site for all to see and he had over 1,000 done, maybe way more. Think Coffeeman had the most scans done. One thing Earl did if I remember right was he collected all books published in his birth year. I thought that was a great idea. Made me look at my birth month, a year is too crazy. Earl is or was a top notch collector.
Cool. I didn't know that my stats were still around. Not as high as some of the others, but still cool.
Coffeeman isn't listed anymore -- I suspect because he's at another site now.
