it's a bit trickier to find because it's the only movie one where it's called 'motion picture' and not movie. if you search for 'batman adaptation' it comes up with the others. and then you have to click the 'prestige format' tab to see that version.

Thanks - I wonder if I have a different printing. I know I bought it right around the same time but the cover is different. On mine, it is called movie and the look is different. Hmmmm.

I did a google image search and checked comics.org - there is a variant, but no one has uploaded a cover. Maybe yours is a variant. The variant has a wraparound cover. If yours has a wraparound, report the variant to CPG. If not, then it's probably one of those cheap variants not produced by DC.

There were two versions of this that came out. One was prestige format (card stock cover) and the other was a regular news-print glossy cover. I had both when they came out. Viktheking shows the newsprint cover and collectibleshop shows the prestige format version's cover.

CPG has both covers. Newsstand/regular cover shows first on this page, then click the prestige format tab to see that cover. Neither are rare, both were order-able and shipped to comic stores: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/batman-the-official-comic-adaptation-of-the-warner-bros-motion-picture/riw Note to CPG indexers--Newsstand is spelled with two S's, not one Also, CPG has the 'newsstand' 1A edition dated as January 1989 instead of June/Aug 1989. The movie came out in June, so pretty sure (and so is comics.org) that both editions came out in the summer, cuz why would they spoil the movie by publishing the comic months earlier?
And according to comics.org, there's a 'direct market' UPC box and a newsstand barcode box for that one too. https://www.comics.org/issue/247876/ They have the regular edition publication date as June, and the prestige as Aug., so CPG differs on the prestige month too. I have the prestige, but it doesn't state a publication month anywhere, but I thought they were both solicited at the same time, so don't know who's right. edited by collectibleshop on 9/15/2019

Thank you everybody. Really appreciate the support. Its a new world for me - went to a comic shop for the first time in 25+ years this weekend and saw a new special reprint of an 'old' comic. Amazing 300, which was about the time I started collecting. Thanks again.
