I don't know why it says guest but this is my post.
After a work related hiatus from the site, I'm back and I'm excited to see this topic come up and get the attention it deserves.
I've always had ideas brewing for the site and I hope to see them implemented in some fashion or another. It's also nice to see some of the ideas the other members are bringing up in this thread for sellers. My main reason for joining back in 2006 was to look up values to base my ebay listings on. I didn't expect to find such a welcoming and friendly community of comic fans.
I enjoy this site very much but as so many people are on mobile devices these days I went looking for an app to do my cataloging and want list management my main idea (sorry it took so long to get to this part) is to make the data compatible with other mobile services or to have an easier way to interface the two. I found that the CLZ app has great cloud back-up and a very easy UI for adding issues and want lists. I still find the occasional missing issue but they are very on top of updating it usually I find the issue I'm looking for within the next visit or two. It would be awesome if I could simply drag and drop my collection from CPG to CLZ and Vice Versa.
Since I don't take my laptop with me to the comic store and trying to load the CPG site on my phone in the LCS takes up so much time. (Waiting for ads and banners to load.) Loading and scrolling through my collection is more of a hassle even when using the mobile settings on my device.
Also a little personal pet peeve of mine with the CPG boxes, when viewing the boxes the comics shown are in a seemingly random order trying to manage my boxes that have issues for sale is kind of a pain to do.
If I think of anything else I'll check back here now that finding my posts has been addressed. I have a wordpad doc. somewhere with my list of ideas so I'm off to begin a digital scavenger hunt.....
Happy Reading all!!! |

Thanks I need the money. Altogether they guide for like $413.00 I have them up for sale now on bonanza but I doubt they'll sell. I don't know how well 1st apps are trending through TWD because I haven't been following market values. I feel like the $300.00 price range is fair I haven't even read most of these single issues because I buy the trades to read. I jumped on the single issues @ #73 and was gonna get all the singles and work my way backwards but there are SOOOO many I just want to focus on trades nowadays to get the stories read. even thinking of doing the same for my Batmans! edited by expander on 1/23/2017 |

Well it's been to long since I've been here to the boards and I'm to try to keep up with it a little more. I can't wait to get into my pull box at my lcs! I've finally got a little "dough-to-blow" so i can catch up on faith and The gambit/deadpool books as well as Aliens: Defiance he's been holding for me. I've been reading a lot of my 80's/90's one off books from my small publishers box. I have a few issues of southern knights that's caught my fancy looks like a hard run to complete though. there are trades out there for the series but I'm not sure if they include all the issues.
After this can of sour cream and onion Pringles is gone I'm gonna finish my loca moca and hit the treadmill for a while. Gotta keep my gamer's physique, lol. |

I also have a hard time viewing other members collections when invited to do so. their collection will show 800 or so comics in their collection for marvel but when I click on the marvel link it shows two titles, then if i click on one of the letters above that I get redirected to this page:
http://comicspriceguide.com/my-collection/controls/#
Which displays the following:
Sorry, you have found a page that does not exist. Please return to the homepage or help us out and Report how you got here.
When I click on the "report how you got here" link it just takes me to the "about us" page.
navigating the "guide part of the site has always had a few bugs and glitches but I guess my main point is that this site is supposed to be a price guide first and foremost (at least given it's name) shouldn't the guide be the best part?
I hope I don't come off as too condescending here but that's just my opinion. |

My run jumps from #38 to #54 figures. I've been putting off completing my SW run for this very reason. Every time I add a few books something drives the market up artificially and I get pushed out wallet first. |

I had a thread on the old forums with pics and step by step instructions on how to mail comics. I would also link to it from my ebay auctions and purchases.
As to the question posed in the o.p. I would P.M. the seller and ask for a refund or replacement. There isn't really a feedback system like ebay has for this site but good sales and happy customers are usually outspoken about pleasant transactions on the boards. not sure if there's a thread for that yet on the new boards....... |

+1 @ox.
let your dollar do the talkin' and if you don't like the price let your feet do the walkin'.
My lcs could do better on prices, (but he has to pay rent so..) i'll never complain about what i pay cause he's a super cool down to earth guy who cuts me deals and lets my pull box pile up when i'm low on spening cash. He also participates in FCBD so I take my kids with me as often as possible. he has these plastic totes full of open toys he lets them pic one out when i bring them in and he lets me know if somethings coming out that he thinks i may like and his opinions are honest and i trust his word on trading as well he also has a very small store and not enough help to manage it all. Every one gets a little sticker shock now and then and it's natural to want to point it out. but If you have access to a good LCS, please support them like crazy. I lived in a town that had no comic stores (the closest thing to it was a single spinner rack at the waldenbooks in the mall) and nothing was ever anywhere near 9.0 by the time they were done manhandling the comics. ongoing issues were hit and miss as far as whether they were even in stock and it was a pain in the rear to go to the mall and fight for parking and so on.......
Thanks for the chuckle, (oh I did get a laugh) and hope there's better prices for you at home. Hope you enjoyed your vacation. I could use one myself. |

G'day Expander, What's happening sir? Haven't heard from you in a while. I'm heading to supernova in Sydney next month, Can't wait.
Well Howdy Sir! I've been super busy lately. Just poking around the threads to see if anything amazing has happened in my absence but..........nope.
I've been reading more of my comics lately as opposed to "expanding" my collection. i did have a blast at FCDB this year my 6 year old is a big spongebob fan so he was excited to see another FCBD spongebob issue he also loved the wonder woman one as well. |

I stopped buying from Midtown because they do not know how to pack. Sometimes they will use a Diamond box which is good, but then sometimes they use a smaller box and that's when the damage occurs.
It's always disappointing when a seller is inconsistent with their shipping process i bought from an ebay user who was doing well and then i got the pizza hut giveaway xmen books from him they showed up bent and the cover was obviously torn when it got jammed into the bubble mailer. |

I have the first three haunt of fear reprints from gemstone, I'd buy the rest if they popped up for sale at the lcs. most of the ghostly/horror stuff is pretty well scavenged already. definitely a fun read. |

Pricing question...

You have the ability to change that assigned value for each book although it's a painstakingly slow process to do, the value for 9.4 is assuming that most books are in at least that grade when new from the store. a hand-me-down collection is sure to have a few well read books that may very well be less than that. depending on the age, scarcity of the book and over all grade you can generally assume that fair market value will be about 15-25% lower than what the guide says without EEIG (Each and Every Issue Graded) However that being said there is no way to put a price on the sentimental value of your books and ultimately if there's a market for what you're selling auctions seem to get the highest returns for your efforts. the process can be time consuming and tedious but if you're willing to invest the time it'll be well worth the effort in the long run.
I should have mentioned first that it helps to know how to determine the grade of your books (http://comicspriceguide.com/comic-book-grading) reading up on grades will help tremendously if you go to sell and this will help you understand what your potential buyers are talking about when they ask about specific grades/condition. Hope this helps out. and remember if you have any further questions that there's usually someone around on the boards here to bounce a question off of. most of us are happy to help! and.... Welcome to the boards! |

I wish I could recall the issue number of the one I read as a child ( I was about 9 or 10) where........
(SPOILER ALERT)
Dusty dies. my copy didn't have a cover so, after I read it I just threw it on the stack with the rest of my reader copies that I think my younger brother wound up with.
I've been putting off buying the newer joe books out of a sheer lack of funding. The few image books that I picked up in bulk lots aren't bad but reading them just served to frustrate me since I don't have a full story arc to read. |

I've not dealt with egs on a personal level but it's been my experience that most third party grading companies wouldn't be around very long if they didn't have a satisfied customer base who keep coming back to get their books graded.
As far as comparing the two the only way to see if they hold up the same standards would be to get a hold of two of the same books in the same grade and judge for yourself whether they come close. although there could be different reasons for a book getting the grade it gets one could have off white pages and a not so glossy cover giving it that 8.0 where another could have brilliant white pages but a crease in the cover that drags it down to the same 8.0. all in all the beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if you like your egs books then stick with what works for you. ultimately you're the one who has to decide if the quality is up to your liking.....
