Hi everyone,

I'm new to the board and enjoying my time here so far. Looking forward to meeting some fellow collectors and discussing comics.

I mainly collect EC Comics and found while browsing the forum that there is no thread specifically dedicated to EC so I figured I'd start one.

Any other EC collectors on here? I'd love to see some collections and discuss favorite cover art, stories, etc.

I collect them, but I'm cheap and only buy reading copies infrequently.

Thanks for the replies everyone! ECs, even reprints, are pretty tough to come by. It's taken me many trips to many LCS over many years to build my collection. I have an almost complete reprint collection (of the EC titles I collect) so I've officially started acquiring some of the originals. I currently have my first slabbed comic on its way to me (Tales From the Crypt #26).

I don't have any, but I absolutely love comics from the EC age - especially Pre-Code. I've got some reprints, but finding and actually paying for the originals is another matter.

Not actually "EC", but pretty darn close...
Topps produced a set of cards for the TV show Captain Nice. They're insanely scarce. Card fronts are b&w photos from the show. Backs are 4 panel comics by Wally Wood (he was on staff at Topps for a couple years).

I scored the original inked art for some of them smile here's one

Wally Wood was one of the key players at EC.

Too far off topic for an "EC" thread?

How do I make the photos display bigger? The old forum allowed nice sized pix - that's important when talking funny books.

Tell me about it. I'm almost complete with my reprint collection and have just recently started collecting originals. Not easy to do unless you focus on low - midgrade.

In addition to my slabbed Tales From the Crypt #26 on its way to me, I now also have a Shock SuspenStories #17 coming. I love that scarecrow art and the color scheme on that one.

This is very cool!

I got lucky. The seller listed it poorly and it looked like he was selling one page. You had to read his listing very carefully to discover he was selling 3 pages. I was able to buy three pages for the price you'd normally have to pay for one. Comic art this old is typically larger than modern comic art. I have an oversized scanner, but I still had to scan the art in three passes and stitch the separate images together to get the images you see above. I think these were drawn the same year Max Gaines died in a boating accident.
