Is it possible to view the last 20 or 30 issues added to my collection? Or go back even further? |

Pricing question for older runs + Detective #405
Spidey63
|
Hello, I have a question about CPG pricing on original series long-running titles especially DC like Superman, Batman, Jimmy Olsen, Lois Lane, etc. The older 12 and 15cent books from the 1960's and early 1970's that maybe older collectors buy...? Perhaps mostly bought at conventions and less so on-line?? I don't know...
I have read some posts that explain how CPG determines pricing. As I understand, it seems to be based on actual ebay sales and other documented sales which may include recent price swings due to movies or popularity. Plus your own computer program which may blend the price across all grades.
For pricing guidance, I usually use your site plus Overstreet. I understand you are able to react to market prices much faster than a printed price guide that comes out only once a year. That's a great asset and I enjoy using your reference
Usually but not always, there is some amount of correlation to comic book pricing between leading prominent companies. Sometimes there are wide price differences. More rarely, there are books or runs which are separated by extreme price differences not explained by recent trends, movies, etc.
One such book is Detective #405. Current value for 9.2 CPG is $48 while 2019 Overstreet is $415.
Would this be something to review? |

Can we export boxes to excell?

Hello -
I know we can export to excel by publisher, then sort from there.
But is it possible to export boxes to excel?
Because of the way I grouped the books together in the boxes. |

As I add books to my collection, I sometimes find large price differences between CPC and Overstreet. Would it be ok to bring them to your attention without additional back-up information?
Mister Miracle #4 9.2 CPG $56, Overstreet $385
Hero for Hire #1 9.2 CPC $333, Overstreet $1,375
Thank you. |

Overstreet Price Guide - Values?

Some of the older Overstreet Price guides sell for multiples of their original price. Depending on condition of course.
Does anyone know if there is a listing for values of all the Overstreet Price Guides? |

Thank you for the new link and your insight.
I do agree with you.
Before COVID, I was attending maybe a dozen shows a year, attempting to complete better grade runs. So I go thru every dealers wall and boxes for higher grade books.
100 pagers are getting harder and harder to find in better grade. When they surface in high grade, I see them selling for high prices. I don't monitor or record data. This is just a hobby.
However after looking at pictures of the book in the last link, it seems the seller has over graded it. So the sell price is for a book in lower grade than listed.
Thanks again for sharing. Our hobby is a lot of fun. |

Can you send a link for others to view one box?
Spidey63
|
Hello,
I have a collection sorted into over 200 boxes. Some boxes I will want to offer for sale.
If I want to offer a box for sale: - it would be convenient to send a link for that box(s) to the prospective buyer.
- A link not only showing a list, but the cover photos of the books. Like what I see when I open one of my boxes.
Something similar to what you can do with Onedrive. You can send a link to view a file completely, while not allowing access to the rest of all your collection information.
I have not researched uploading my actual cover photos. But if I did that, it would be nice to have those show as the book images, on that link.
Thank you. edited by Pukie2122 on 6/12/2021 edited by Pukie2122 on 6/12/2021 |

Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars #1 1984 Error
Spidey63

I have multiple copies which I think are all 1st printings, because they either have a UPC code or white Spidey face on the cover box.
I bought them over the years from different places and all of mine have this error. Which I thought was a coincidence. Because you would think such a random mix would have some of each.
It's my understanding the error was corrected on 2nd printings? I don't know because I do not seem to have a second print.
But it looks like the error is being promoted to get a higher price for sales. But if all 1st printings have this error, then it's not so unusual and maybe the error version is the norm?
Thank you if you have any insight on this. |

Issue-->My Collection--> Is there a way to sort?
Spidey63
|
I have multiple copies of some issues. Sometimes a dozen or more.
When I look up the book, and go to My Collection, it lists all the issues I have by grade.
I often have a wide range of grades. But identical grades are not grouped together. They are scattered and randomly mixed as you go down the list.
So you might see a 9.4 then a 6.0, 8.5, another 9.4, 4.5, another 6.0, etc.
In this view, is there a way to sort them so I can put identical grades together, and in order?
Or would it be easy to write the program so it does that?
I re-grade, add comments, etc and seeing them this way would be much easier. |

Sorting complete comic book collection in excel
Spidey63
|
The Excel report has the grade listed in words, not numerical value. For instance it says "very fine/ near mint" instead of "9.0"
Is there an easy way to change all the grades to their numerical value? Maybe a programing feature?
I'd like to sort the list from best grade to worst grade. To filter out books below or above a certain grade.
Thank you. |

Mad Paperback books
Spidey63
|
I have a collection of Mad paperback books dating back to the 1960's and 1970's. All contain comic art throughout.
I can find some in the CPG data base but most of them do not seem to be listed here. I searched using the full book title. Then I tried shorting the title down bit by bit. Ending with just "Mad" or "Mad's".
I found a website listing the books and showing the variant printings of each. Looks like there may be a few hundred different books.
Would this be something you can add to the CPG data base?
