So are you sitting down...I'm kidding or am i... (oh! my) I hope they are all not reprints. Are you in Australia ???
Police #17 early 1940's (Quality Comics Group) is in NM $1700 buck-a-roonies. Yours most likely is a reprint & not in NM. Link to page, Scroll down to find your book. http://comicspriceguide.com/titles/police-comics/pltuo Do you have a pic of the book? as there is a Aussie reprint of Police called "All-Famous Police Cases"

Blackhawk #96 Oh! dear, You have a Aussie reprint of the original Worth $5 (even though it's a 50's book) Link provided scroll down to #96 http://comicspriceguide.com/titles/blackhawk-comic/rnqpb

Gimlet #12, Here it is. Again Aussie reprint (no pic) http://ausreprints.net/issue/79591

The Fabulous Adventures of Dan Eagle #1 here it is, Aussie book from the 50's http://ausreprints.net/issue/83302 Not worth much i would imagine.

Nic books mate, But compared to the originals from many years earlier. Sweet books to own but aren't worth much.
Just remember though, Most ...Most books from the 30's - 50's are known as ghosts. So having a reprint of them is way cool indeed.

Hope that helped.

I just typed in Spider-Man & scrolled down till i found it. Always go with the main heading (the rest is a sub-title Heading).

Has anyone else noticed a lot of newer members are listing issues for sale in GEM MINT condition?

As I click through my want list issue by issue here and there I'm seeing a trend lots of 10's and lots of $120.00 books (that may very well only be 6's or 7's at best) just wondering if I'm alone in noticing this.

I do remember a big discussion about this topic on the old forum, I mentioned that it was a "mystic creature that only lives in your dreams".

But seriously...I vaguely remember a few top brass on the old forum saying it should be considered to removed from the grading of comic books as it's not practical & a cheap way to make money from unsuspecting noobs.
I must agree. 9.9 is Mint, That is well...Mint. That's where it should end.

to relate this conversation to that of a comic book-or movie that became a comic book
I will just quote the immortal words of Scottie-in Star Trek-someone can fill in where he said it and when...

You have sparked my interest Ruk...Some years ago i was in Melbourne "Victoria" it's a state of Australia.
I wanted to go to the crown casino, I desperately needed a haircut, I found some hairdresser in a very old & expensive looking shop.
I told the mates i was with at the time to find pub whilst waiting to get a haircut.
Well...They came back about an hour or so later half charged...I said you found a pub didn't you. They made a few smart arse remarks in my direction.
To my amazement just around the corner there was a classic single sign "hand with a finger pointing" down under the shops saying Charles Dickens Tavern It so far has been one of the best pubs i have ever visited.
Life is awesome smile

Annuals of old were the best, Stand alone stories outside that mainstream title.
I too try & pick up any good stuff. DC had some great themes, "Legends of the dead earth", "Ghosts" (think that's what it was called), "Pulp fiction" & "Else-worlds"etc etc.

Marvel also where good, Some of the best spidey stories i read were from an annual.

Hello all, Be awhile since i've been here Whaaaaa? .
Finally picked up a few new back issues, Enjoy!

X-Factor #60, VF+. November 1990. I have had the golden 2nd print of this book for years, I now have both. They go well together.

Stryfes Strike File, VF. January 1993. Sweet 2nd print. Newsstand copy as well.

Spider-Man #59, VF. June 1995. A nice Newsstand copy of a great cover.

Ultimate Fallout #4, F+. October 2011. Picked up a nice 2nd print.

Superman #123, VF+. May 1997. I finally found a newsstand copy of the original Glow-in-the Dark cover. Now onto the elusive 2nd print to make up the trio.

Nice pick ups Gil. The Spider-Man book as you mentioned has a nice cover art. Nice to see you are still seeking second and later printings. Hope you are doing well.

G'day HR, Thanks for the kind comments mate.
I'm trying to get all those great spider-man books from that time during the mid - late 90's. Right when i was into comic books. They aren't as easy to find in NM as i thought but they are still very cheap so no rush!
90's or later 2nd printings are fun to hunt down as they hold there weight for what they are.
Not like today's 4th & 5th printings & beyond. One had to be lucky to pick up a 2nd printing back then.

Well with the announcement of the new Nintendo Switch (it looks great) for next year.

I have to show something, Here is my SNES games collection.
I have about 5-6 cartridges with no boxes, Including the most awesome AXELAY ...Enjoy!

Plenty of time spent on Mario Kart, DKC, Castlevania 4.
Cybernator was sweet but hard. Not as hard as Prince of Persia (it will send you mad...) Loved it though.
Still the best were of course Starwing, F-Zero & Super Metroid. A personal fav. for me was Secret of Evermore.

Here is my Nintendo 64 games collection

I have a hand full of carts with no boxes as well.
Castlevania 64 was disappointing & so was DK 64. Doom 64 was friggin maddening Lol. Shadows of the Empire was a hell of a shock (great game, Get it)
Rayman 2 was magical to play great memories with that. Shadowman is still the scariest game made IMHO.
Goldeneye still plays well & that Rogue Squadron is cool.
I'm lucky to have the sort after Conkers Bad Fur Day & Mario Party 1.
The best were Mario Kart 64 & Ocarina of Time. My personal fav. Top Gear Rally i worn an old TV out with this game & Blast Corps.

Here is my PC games collection ...Enjoy!
These were posted in the old forum, Happy to post in hopes others will post there's smile

Prey is a harder one to find now'a days & Lucky to have F.E.A.R.
Doom 3 changed my life, Duke Nukem was disappointing. RAGE was awesome but to short of gameplay.

...and more.

Wipeout 2097 was great for the time, Fantastic soundtrack.
G-Police is HTF i'm sure i've got this on Dreamcast or did upset still playing F.E.A.R. 3 best shooter game in years.

My consoles, I have a few others not included in this pic, They are Vic 20, Commodore 64, Atari 2600 woody all unboxed.
Also have 2 x Super Game-boy's & 1 x Mario Paint (it had a mouse & pad which was ahead of it's time in the early 90's, First for a computer game product).

Believe it or not, The Nintendo Wii (first edition) which is what i have is now sort after, It was the only one that had the Gamecube compatibility & controller slots. Not to mention the original controller without the rubber grip & no Wii Motion plus added which was banned from this edition onward's, After breaking alot of TV's & heads Lol.
