Charlton's "The Comic Book Guide"

Should there be a listing for Charlton Comics' "The Comic Book Guide for the Artist - Writer - Letterer"? This 36 page mini-sized comic is a great primer on getting into the business. While true that it is mostly text, it was written by Nicola Cuti, has a cover by Tom Sutton and interior panels by a host of Charlton artists.
Just a thought. |

Note: There is a publisher listing in the CPG Database for 'Millar Publishing Comics' for the magazine Peter Millar's "Big Daddy Roth." However the indicia in "Drag Cartoons" issue #1 (1963) states that the publisher is 'Millar Publishing Company.' These may or may not be the same companies.

The date listed (November 1967) for the FF King-Size Special is incorrect. It should be "November 1966."

There appears to be some confusion over this title. CPG has it listed under "Mr. Monster Super-Duper Special #2" However the indicia indicates it as "Mr. Monster's High-Octane Horror" (see attached photo). Not sure how you would like to handle this. Just wanted to bring it your attention.

There appears to be errors regarding the publication dates for a series of Journey Into Mystery issues.
The months appear correct.
The year does not.
For example, CPG lists issue #55 as "November 1958."
My actual issue indicates "November 1959."
See attached photo for details.
This also appears to be the case for other nearby issues that I have (ex. #50, #56).
Not sure where the error began or where it gets corrected.

As a bit of trivia, the details section may wish to note that this issue introduces the FF's new costume design.
After the FF return from the Negative Zone, Sue Richards points out, "Our costumes! They've changed... as if they've become... negative?" (Pg 18, panel 3)

As a bit of trivia, the details section may wish to note that the Fantastic Four do not appear in this issue's story. The focus is entirely on Doctor Doom.
Perhaps this explains the banner across the splash page which reads" "Stan Lee presents perhaps the strangest issue ever of the Fantastic Four!" |
