What was your first comic?

I don't even remember. I was maybe nine or ten years old, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't one single comic. I got a bunch of early '70s stuff, a lot of which was reprints of the classic Lee/Kirby stuff.

Is it time to boycott Marvel? Has anyone already?

I should re-phrase that as "Is it time to boycott Disney as a whole?" It's a few weeks after James Gunn was fired and it's apparent that he's not returning to direct Guardians 3 and I haven't purchased a Marvel Comic or any Disney product since, nor do I plan to do so in the future. That means no future MCU or Star Wars films either. On top of that, they've become a monopoly that wouldn't even have been allowed to exist just a little over a couple decades ago. They don't even treat their employees that well. I won't try to persuade anyone to my way of thinking on this matter, but if you consider yourself somewhat principled, there comes a time when you need to take a stand on certain things, and I'm going to maintain my position.

I agree Diamond sucks and should be broken up, but James Gunn came from Troma Films where he made some of the most offensive, violent, and perverted films ever. One might argue everything he did there was in bad taste, so why didn't Disney just decide to let him go and just use his script when they acquired Marvel?
And as far as boycotting comics in general, I pretty much have, with the exception of some creator owned titles. DC is nothing but watered-down, overpriced garbage nowadays.

THE NEW MUTANTS #87 news stand version

The newsstand edition markup is based mostly on how many exist and survived in pristine condition from how they were displayed or (mis)handled. Plus there were a lot that were purposely damaged as part of the process of returning unsold copies, like ripping the cover in half, or removing some part of it. Until around the mid '70s newsstand distribution was the majority, then it became half and half for a while up until around the mid '90s. They were almost nonexistent in the 2000s, so there were significantly less.
But back to the question, I haven't seen one either. I think I owned a shitty reader copy a few years back, but they're tough to find.

If I kept everything I've bought over the last thirty years, I'd have quite an impressive array, but once I reach a point where I feel I've accumulated too much, I start giving a lot of it away to charity.

"Raw" Prices vs. "Graded" Prices

Professional grading is a big scam for the most part, and we all just play along with it because we want more money for our books.

As a non-paying member, this website is pretty useless.
