Agreed. Unfortunately, Excalibur came into existence right at the late-80s/early-90s comic over-saturation. I am up to issue 30 with my reading and I have to say that the Cross-Time Caper was just a bit on the confusing yet still entertaining side. ..
I really liked Excalibur because two of my favorite characters were in it - Nightcrawler and Shadowcat -- but also because I only had to buy ONE title to follow the storyline - unlike the other X's when the storyline flowed through multiple titles.... |

Guidelines for Uploading Cover Scans to CPG
katdancing
|
Assuming I get all the requirements correct...is there a way to upload the scans of my covers - which may not be as lovely as the pictures on CPG -- to give potential buyers a good look at what I'm selling (aside from any written descriptions)
First off, thank you for helping us make CPG the best comic resource on the web. Here are some guidelines to upload comic cover scans to the database. If you don't see your scan approved within a 2 week period it might have not been up to par, please review the items below and make sure the scan meets all requirements . First off if you are new to scanning comics, take a moment to read a quick step by step to scanning I have here at my website. You can also see some examples of bad scans that will not make it into the database.
Covers must be:
- 1. Cropped properly. No background showing.
- 2. No digital camera pictures.
- 3. No covers with URL, company watermarks or logos.
- 4. No covers with scanline patterns will be accepted.
- 5. No covers scans with the comic still in the bag and board.
- 6. No grainy or blurry scans.
- 7. Adult covers with nudity must be edited with black boxes.
The only exception to the above rules are Golden Age covers. We are a little more flexible with these, due to the rarity of getting a cover scan. If you are scanning in your own covers to upload I recommend a 200 to 300 DPI setting and then resizing the covers to a 350 x 535 pixel size before saving. This is a standard I have used for a few years that makes a good clear scan without being a huge filesize. Thank you for helping making CPG the best comic site on the net. edited by ronbatman on 5/17/2019 |

how to recognize a variant

I'm pricing my Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi and noticed there's a "Gold Cover Variant" - but it's hard to tell from the thumbnails what the difference is (color?) and no info any where else that I saw. How can I tell if it's a standard issue ($3) or Gold Variant ($8) ? |

Book price is different in box vs print list

WHY are the box price and the item list price different? Why doesn't the box price reflect the grade and price I input? |

wrong pricing?

why, when I add a comic to my list, when I click "My Comics" the price that shows is for grade 9.4 -- no matter what grade I posted. Not always - but often enough to be really annoying. When I check the listing, I never know whether the price listed is correct, or if I need to click onto the issue itself to get the correct price. |

What happened to my comic boxes?

I'm back - and so are my boxes and all my comics - all 990 of them (so far!) Thanks to Ben, Ron and Collectibleshop who helped me with this problem Now - is there an easy way to transfer the 50 I listed under the Bronze account to my Gold account, without doing it one by one (again?) |

So You Want to Sell Your Comics?

I'd like to start selling some of my comics on here, but I'm not a professional grader and I'm not sure exactly what to put for conditions. The last thing I want is to have unhappy buyers /*4and have to have comics returned because they didn't feel I graded them correctly. Any suggestions?
I also do raw grading - and the grading guide is the place to start I usually only grade a few at a time - 10-20 -- otherwise, I start to get tired, or sloppy with the grading.... Grade BEFORE you check the prices.....avoid the temptation to grade just a little higher..... My general rule of thumb, because I'm NOT a professional grader, and I may, on occasion, tweak the grade a little higher.... when it's time to sell, I will often drop the price a bit lower than the raw listed price Then, if my grading is a bit off, the price won't be And if my grading is spot on, the buyer will be pleased they received better than expected -- and come back and buy more! |
