Justice League 3 1987 wrong issue described

I wanted to check the price for the Variant edition of Justice League 3 (1987 run) and noticed that the regular issue of number three that pops up says the cover price is 75c, but the photo is of the Canadian News Stand variant and is $1.00.
So, a new photo is needed of the regular 75 c edition and the Canadian Variant (CPV) should have a description change.

The Newsstand editions are really starting to come into their own! The Canadian ones are the truly scarce ones but as such are the last to be added. Here is the picture for Justice League #1, 1987 series... I think it attached....

The prices for these variants are generally 50% higher than the other editions of the given issue. (This is especially true for variants that are key issues) That will get noticed when the editions are put on CPG and we can send in the eBay auction prices.

An aside: Is there a way to send other auctions and sales? Comiclink and ComicConnect only list briefly, and only if you are registered with them. I have stopped sending their sales results as I don't think they can be checked easily, which is too bad ad there is a lot on those sites that eBay can't duplicate.

The whole series had Canadian Price variants, but this is the key one. It had a cover price of $1.00 and a UPC code.

All good to know. Thanks.

Also, the Canada/US listing appears to be inconsistent. I searched X-Factor 5 and 6 and the Canadian Variants for both are listed under the regular US search. That's why I didn't think to try it. Shows it's always good to try everything.

Thank you for the great updates of the Canadian White comics! I know they're not done, but a lot have been changed and it's great to see!
One of the most recent is Canada Jack, but the title given it is Captain Jack. I'm a doctor who fan so get the slip, but it'll make searching difficult.
Cheers!

Star Wars Dark Empire Trade wrong edition

I've been using some of the extra time to inventory (and read) some of my trades and noticed that my First edition Star Wars: Dark Empire TPB differs from the one listed on the site. I'm including pictures of the cover, info page from inside, and the back cover.

This edition does say "First Edition", but the publication date is May 1993. This makes sense as the series was from 1992. The edition on CPG says it was printed 2003.
The cover has the "Dark Horse" logo in the bottom right. There is no logo on the one listed.
The back cover has the cover price at $16.95 but the one on CPG says $17.95 (so later).
I can't say what edition the one on CPG actually is, but I'm pretty sure it isn't just a variant of the first as nothing is the same.

CPG has issues up to 50 when the title changes to Grand Slam Three Aces, and then when the title changed back to just Three Aces 52 and up are listed. I'm attaching a picture of #51 (Three Aces, Anglo-American publishing, Feb. 1946)

Ah, that's why I couldn't find it. It says in the issue the official title is Jellystone Jollies so that's what I searched, not the regular title. It was a period they changed stuff like that a lot and makes searches tricky sometimes.

Swamp Thing 25 NOT Constantine

iron_puppy
iron_puppy
Ok, you can check this out yourself, but I remember reading an interview with Alan Moore and he said (as we know) the first Constantine was based on Sting. Essentially he said the artists drew a Sting-like character and wanted a character like him so they could draw him again. He came up with Constantine AFTER that. So yes, there is a Sting-like character but the concept of Constantine wasn't even in his mind yet. I'm not sure if that would make earlier images a "prototype"....
I'll see if I can track the interview down. It was years ago.
Does anyone else remember it?

Just thought I'd do a quick search and found this...
It's a bit of the idea anyway.

John? No, it's Sting.

From the beginning, John Constantine has had a remarkable resemblance to the pop star Sting. In an interview with Wizard magazine, Alan Moore clears up some of the misconceptions surrounding the creation of John Constantine, and his relationship with the rock superstar. And he tells an interesting little story.
Try as I might, I simply couldn't find a Rolling Stone interview in which Sting expressed any opinion on any comic, let alone Hellblazer. However, I did find an interview in Musician magazine in which Sting briefly discusses his relationship to his comic book counterpart, which may be what Alan Moore is referring to.

The Unexplored Medium
ALAN MOORE speaks on what makes working as a comic writer so appealing.

The following excerpt comes from an article which appeared in the November 1993 issue
of Wizard magazine. The authors were William A. Christensen and Mark Seifert

Where did the character John Constantine come from?
Basically, when I take over something as a writer, I always try to work as closely as I can with the artists on the book, so I immediately did my best to strike up a friendship with Steve Bissette and John Totleben. I asked them what they would like to do in Swamp Thing . They both sent me reams of material. Things that they had always wanted to do in Swamp Thing, but never thought they would get away with. I incorporated this into my scheme of things, and tried to pin it all together.

One of those early notes was they both wanted to do a character that looked like Sting. I think DC is terrified that Sting will sue them, although Sting has seen the character and commented in Rolling Stone that he thought it was great. He was very flattered to have a comic character who looked like him, but DC gets nervous about these things. They started to eradicate all traces of references in the introduction of the early Swamp Thing books to John Constantine's resemblance to Sting . But I can state categorically that the character only existed because Steve and John wanted to do a character that looked like Sting. Having been given that challenge, how could I fit Sting into Swamp Thing ? I have an idea that most of the mystics in comics are generally older people, very austere, very proper, very middle class in a lot of ways. They are not at all functional on the street. It struck me that it might be interesting for once to do an almost blue-collar warlock. Somebody who was streetwise, working class, and from a different background than the standard run of comic book mystics. Constantine started to grow out of that.

One interesting anecdote that I should point out is that one day, I was in Westminster in London -- this was after we had introduced the character -- and I was sitting in a sandwich bar. All of a sudden, up the stairs came John Constantine. He was wearing the trenchcoat, a short cut -- he looked -- no, he didn't even look exactly like Sting. He looked exactly like John Constantine. He looked at me, stared me straight in the eyes, smiled, nodded almost conspiratorially, and then just walked off around the corner to the other part of the snack bar. I sat there and thought, should I go around that corner and see if he is really there, or should I just eat my sandwich and leave? I opted for the latter; I thought it was the safest. I'm not making any claims to anything. I'm just saying that it happened. Strange little story.

This is missing in both number and photo. It's either a part of the first Hillsborough run (which CPG has going to issue 5) or the first of the second series?
It's just the sold eBay listing, but theses are so scare I'm not sure when I'll see another....

Greetings!
I think these are missing, but thought I'd check in case they are under a different listing...
There is a series of "Star Trek Enterprise Logs" books that reprint the original Gold Key run. There are I think at least 5 volumes and are published by Golden Press in the 1970's. Did I miss the listing?
