you're correct. always good to post a link to the issue too, saves searching time, especially for titles with multiple volumes. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/hard-corps-the/7/pkuykp is the one.
#12 is also wrong, should be 1993: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/hard-corps-the/12/pkuykw I submitted dates for #1 gold, 5B, 21, 25-30 to finish the run off, so 'yup' away.... edited by collectibleshop on 3/31/2022 |

the Maris reprint is listed under Whiz Comics #2: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/whiz-comics/2/woxulp methinks it would help if it was noted with the regular #1 too.
for the OP, here's the descrip from mycomicshop: "Whiz Comics #1 (Origin and 1st newsstand appearance of Captain Marvel, originally published in 1940) is one in a series of reprints published in 1975 by comic and toy collector Don Maris. While similar in format to the Flashback reprints published by DynaPubs (Alan Light), the Maris editions reprint different Gold Age issues and represent better reproduction quality. Note: Hit Comics #1, Plastic Man #2, and Silver Streak #6 are the only issues reprinted by both publishers. The Maris and Flashback issues have become very collectible in their own right. They also represent a very inexpensive way for comic readers to read and enjoy comics that typically sell for thousands of dollars. This Maris edition reproduces the complete original comic including ad pages, but all interior pages are in black-and-white rather than the original color."
so no retirement fund money. CPG values may be low, but I kinda doubt the asking prices on e***, based on the sold prices of other Maris reprints, but good luck if they can get those prices. edited by collectibleshop on 4/1/2022 |

seeing as how this was inside other comics, they don't always list these by themselves, and I didn't find it by itself either, but it is noted with All Star Squadron 15 and DC Comics Presents 51 newsstand editions. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/dc-comics-presents/51/wnxyh

you can submit it yourself, it may be faster. these instructions have been posted a ton, so always good to read some other replies to find out info.
Use the "Report Missing Variant" function found in the listings for individual books. You must be logged in to do this. - Navigate to the specific book that is missing a variant. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/venom/150/pkqvnpv in this case.
- Select the 'Variants' tab found next to 'Values'.
- You should see a red box titled "Report Missing Variants" on the right side below any listed variants.
- Clicking the box will bring up a page where you can enter information specific to the variant you are reporting (not all is required). This includes what it's called, price, artist, publication date, etc. This makes it much faster for the admins to process the request.
I attached a good normal size pic, as yours has a watermarked release date on it. You can save the image and upload it with the noted form. for future reference if you notice missing variants: Get a good square-on scan, .jpg format preferred, cropped to the edges of the comic. If you can't, then find them on the net, with no watermarks, no signatures, no pro-graded ones, and try to make sure they're a published version, not a pre-production pic (like a Previews solicitation often is), as those get changed in production all the time. Best to resize them if you can to about 350-400px wide, but CPG can do that too.
there ya go. edited by collectibleshop on 4/2/2022 |

Insuring your collection

Hey David, you'll find tons of threads/experience on the CGC forums about this subject. probably most in Comics General, but you can do an insurance or collectibles insurance search for all forums too. one thing I found out with collectinsure company was that if they think you're any kind of dealer, even if just a collector with some things for sale, they call you a dealer, and you pay a much higher premium plus a $200 deductible. Have you asked about rider policies on your homeowners insurance? A previous regular insurance Co when I was living at my previous (parent owned) house had coverage of possessions, including collectibles and art, furniture, electronics, appliances, carpet, etc, for up to 80% of the value of the house (I think it was 80%, might have been less), which was enough to cover my stuff with no extra premium. They would want a list, but they didn't say we needed appraisals. The head of the company told me as long as the stuff was in the house when damaged, it was covered. Fortunately we never had to test that. If the possessions were worth more than that percentage, then we could get a rider policy, but we never asked about that to get the cost, since we didn't need it. so shop around.
I'll email you some companies I found off the CGC forums, and I only contacted collectinsure once to see probable cost and it was too high (they designated me as a dealer, and wanted more than what we used to pay for the whole house at my previous home, which was FAR more valuable than my collection), and haven't tried the others.
you can start a search in this forum: https://boards.cgccomics.com/forum/8-comics-general/ , and there's more in other forums. edited by collectibleshop on 4/3/2022 |

Is there a way to give out my email to email to individuals?? Or is it advisable to put it straight on the post? NOT advisable to post an email address, that will attract spam bots. although, you can obfuscate it some using spaces and brackets, like [@], but human spammers will still be able to use that. best way is, go the links at the top of the page, under Community, click that, click Members, then input the member name in the search field right above the alphabet, and click the magnifying glass icon. when the member name comes up, click on their name, then over on the right side you'll see a box with 'message me'. click that and send your email address to the person thru that system. this is on a desktop, I don't know what it looks like on a phone.
convoluted, yes, but currently you can't message people thru the forum IDs like the good ol' days. hopefully CPG will upgrade with new forum software this year, they're looking into it.
for quicker member access, you can bookmark the member's page if you need to send more PMs vs emails. the system kinda limits you to sending 1 message to a member at a time until you get a reply, so get all your info in the 1st message.
good luck on the sales. edited by collectibleshop on 4/5/2022 |

well, the policy is up to CPG on 1-of comics like this. All I could find on it was that the limited edition was all signed, or signed and numbered out of 3500, and CPG doesn't usually list those. see this forum sticky post: https://comicspriceguide.com/forum/topic9-signed-and-remarked-comics.aspx
I found a pic on the Vine that's supposedly the regular #1, so attached that. Writer and Artist are Rus Sever. Publisher was Mega Comics, 1995. All the other pics I found were of the limited edition. So CPG can decide if this is worth listing. |

Before I request a deletion, want to put this out there in case I am missing something and these two are separate variants.
Thanks! David it appears to me that the non-UK one is a duplicate, plus an off kilter scan. comics.org only shows that cover as UK, mycomicshop doesn't seem to list it, but the cover has the Previews UK symbol on it, so I'd say the /pjxrcrt one should be deleted. |

Or perhaps provide the option to expand the display case to 50 or 100? you can see all your uploaded pics under the 'my comic collection' link on your profile page, but they will be listed under each publisher, so you have to check each publisher, then each title. please always post a link to the books, as many titles have multiple volumes. there's all kinds of Star Wars 42s. I believe you mean the 1980 one: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/star-wars/42B/wjuxj and yes, the direct version is the same pic as the newsstand, so an admin will change that. the ones with the diamond box are Whitmans, and those would be under the 'Alternate Publishers' list links at the top of the series results, but they stop well short of #42 for some reason, so pic attached of one, and of the direct version.

you can submit it as a variant on the listings page at https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/dc-comics---the-new-52-fcbd-special-edition-fcbd-2012/1/ynvumx

- Clicking the box will bring up a page where you can enter information specific to the variant you are reporting (not all is required).

Walmart Justice League Special #1 title change

Had to search on just Justice League #1, wait and wait for that result to load, and scroll down till I found it: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/justice-league/1-WALM/phtpbyq
I own it, just got it back from CGC (the only 9.8, yippee), and the Indicia says the correct title is Justice League Special Edition #1, which is how most other sites have it too, and what CGC uses, so should be listed like that so it's easier to find for all 1 of us who look for it. Would be nice if all the Walmart variants could be found by adding Walmart to the search terms too, thanks. If you search on just Walmart, only 3 titles come up, so why not have all the rest cross referenced that way too, seeing as how there's so many now? I'm sure this has been suggested already and I know there's lots of WM variants, but surely the in-house search can find the ones with 'WALM' in the title area.
Since this reprints the 2011 New 52 JL #1, it's up to CPG to decide if it should also be listed with the variants of that, even tho this ish was published in 2016. edited by collectibleshop on 4/17/2022 |

thanks David, I wasn't aware of the Exclusives search as I rarely use that drop down, and don't collect newer comics regularly, or the Walmart stuff (the one I bought was a case of mistaken identity), so haven't had a need to search for exclusives much. I see some info has been added to the listing and it shows under the 2011-2016 series as #1-WALM, but since you all use the indicia for the titles, it still needs to be changed to Justice League Special Edition #1 like the indicia says (just trying to follow the 'rules') so it can be found that way too, even tho the cover doesn't say special edition, and few will check the indicia to see the 'real' title', and of course most people will probably search Justice League #1 for it anyway. I know this book is probably rarely searched for, so not a big deal, but every little bit of info in listings helps.
Thanks, I learnt sumthing! edited by collectibleshop on 4/19/2022 |
