How is the GI Joe series with IDW? I loved the franchise as a kid but have never revisited it since. Do people actually die in the book or do their rifles jam after 3 shots like in the cartoon? *click* *click* "Cobra junk!" After Marvel ended it with issue #155 back in December 1944, IDW picked it up with issue #156 in 2010. So even though these covers are exact reprints of the Marvel #21, it's IDW that has the rights now. I had CBCS witness Joe Jusko and Larry Hama sign my virgin variant, and sent it off for slabbing. (Both Larry and Joe are really nice guys with a lot of good "old days" stories.) |

To Slab or not?

Getting one slabbed depends on the issue (Hulk #181?) and its condition (Hulk #181 that looks like a 7.5?). But a Hulk #181 that's a 4.0? I wouldn't. Yes, CBCS is good. The grader notes are included in the price. And when anyone ever gets that comics (so they're not the original submitter) they just enter the serial # or scan the QR Code, and they get the grader notes too! Try it out. Google pics of CBCS comics... get the serial # off of one... enter into the CBCS site... and BOOM! Grader notes! |

What was a comic worth 30 years ago?

Is there a website that has the HISTORICAL value of comics over the years? I can't find one. For example, what was Superman #12 worth in 1998, and in 2008? One that charts it would be cool too. |

I am getting the same issue, no covers loading. Deleting cookies and history did not work.
I also get no covers loading for my PC with Chrome 92.0.4515, Firefox 91.0.1, and IE 11.0.9600 for any Title's list or on the "Recent Value Changes" page. The "broken image" icon is displayed instead. The Chrome browser on my Android phone displays them fine, as does the app on the Android phone. Deleted all cookies, cache, and history to no avail. Opening the Image link in another tab (ex: https://file.ac/hncODHhsAGw/MQAyADgAMQA3ADQA.jpg) gives a "This site can't be reached" / "The connection has timed out" error (depending on the browser). All other visited websites display images. |

I'm still having problems with images displaying. It's the same in Firefox 92.0.1, Chrome 94.0.4606.61, and IE 11.0.9600.19596 Take, for example, my "My Display Case" page at https://comicspriceguide.com/members/sclingerman. I see 25 of my covers displaying, and 23 that show the broken-image icon.
All the images that display start with the URL https://comicspriceguide.com/img/members/plrrhv/covers/ Example: https://comicspriceguide.com/img/members/plrrhv/covers/sub-mariner-1-volume-1-whf2zv3f_lrg.jpg All the images that do NOT display start with the URL https://file.ac/ Example: https://file.ac/i2NuOiGFSKE/cb0d4ce3-2e7b-4534-a9d5-73b91224782d_lrg.jpg
And when I search for "Fantastic Four", and select the 1961-2012 Volume 1, I see the thumbnails of all the covers on the page (with the "PRICE GUIDE" tab selected) - https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/fantastic-four/smpy#pricing. All of those images that display have a URL that starts with https://comicspriceguide.com/image/smpy/ But when I click on the "MY ISSUES" tab, all the thumbnails are the broken-image icon - https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/fantastic-four/smpy#my-collection. All of the broken-image icons have the URL that starts with https://file.ac/ This page REALLY doesn't make sense because the thumbnails under the Fantastic Four's "MY ISSUES" tab should show your stock image. But they're the broken-image icon. But when I click on on a specific issue, like FF#230, your stock image is displayed under the "MY ISSUES" tab (https://comicspriceguide.com/image/smpy/xouub)... just not for the "MY ISSUES" main FF listing.
I tried to delete my uploaded cover for X-Men 94, and a popup said it could not delete the image (with the "https://file.ac URL). So I deleted the entire entry... re-entered it... and then re-uploaded my my pic of it... and now that one displays and has the https://comicspriceguide.com/img/members/plrrhv/covers/ URL instead of the http.file.ac one. I can do this for all my uploaded covers, but as I said above, when I select the "MY ISSUES" tab, NONE of the thumbnails display for that list.
Why are some of them going to this "https://file.ac" web site? Please help me with this. |

Imagine being able to do this sort of thing with our collections...
"show all Neal Adams penciled books from all publishers which I've graded 9.0 or higher" "show top 500 valued marvel comics from the silver age" "show all my Golden age books 6.0 or higher, with a graded value in excess of $2000 USD" "show where the hell I put all my copies of Amazing Spider-man #300" "show all my books penciled by Jack Kirby, where they are, what their value is." "show all my signed and graded books"
This is the sort of stuff collectors who are very active in selling books, grading books, etc. NEED to be able to do, which we cannot do with your website. Things we can easily do, once we can get that information into a spreadsheet.
This is why I keep all my comics in CPG (so the values get updated, and so I have an online database when I'm shopping) and in an Access database (so I can do everything up above). Yes, I enter everything twice. If CPG had true database capabilities on their webpages, I could ditch the Access database. And I would pay $75/year for my Gold Membership for all of that. |

Post-1974... so "recent". Not "old". Kkestner's suggestion would very much enhance comic entry for a VAST number of (actual) old comics. |
