OK I made some offers on some books and the seller keeps "Declining" them telling me to make an offer again I do it again then he declines again and says make an offer again.

Now these are for common books that are going for $3-4 on the site and that's what he has them for so if they are only worth $3-4 and you have them listed for $3-4 then what is the problem?

I'm tired of some of these games these sellers are playing do you want to sell your books or not?

If you have a books listed at $3 and it books for $3 I'm not giving you $10 for it...

This is getting old can we somehow report this somehow?

Taskmaster,
As I've mentioned in the past, if someone isn't your style seller. Like the one you're talking about here, ignore them and their sales.

If they are doing something not allowed on the site or ignoring buyers you can report them to me. I took someone's sales down this week because a buyer reported it and I confirmed it.

I can be reached by calling the CPG offices or you can email me Ron(@)comicspriceguide.com remove the parenthesis

But I didn't know this until after I made the offer.....

And you have to stop with these people putting individual books up for SALE then telling people I'm only selling "sets" what kind of person does that puts all books in a set (50-60) on here as a INDIVIDUAL book you make offers on them they decline them then tell you later that they are not selling them as individual books but as a "set" this and making people take offers "Offline" when someone else has made an offer is crazy....but it still happens...

This is getting old...

Each book price has been discounted to sell all 66 issues as a set for $299 which includes cost of shipping. I do not wish to break up the set. Accept PayPal.

If this is allowed then why is he posting them as individual books?

Is it E-Bay other pricing sites,Overstreet or something else?

Case in point a book that was/is worth $3 for whatever reason MAYBE a movie or tv tie in is now going for $40-50 or more and the books listed here are going for the $3 price but some of these people are putting some crazy offers on them is this the market then?

I think the offer page should go away because it starts E-bay like bidding wars which really suck....Whaaaaa?

We set prices based on the market. Overstreet is outdated by the time it's published so we certainly don't use that! The market changes quickly based on speculation. This is definitely the way the market operates now.

The offer page encourages the true value of a book, which is what we like to see. I've seen you get some great deals here on the site, don't let one or two that got away get you down.

I get it but books that are $3 are now $40-50 on E-Bay? Nothing jumps that fast....smile

You must be new. The day they announced the last Walking Dead issue, it was $30 on eBay before some stores even opened their doors on Wednesday. You have to remember, some stores get their books on Monday and in the time it takes someone to read a book, the spoilers are out there and if it's something big or perceived as big, people will jump on that as fast as they can hit the send button on Facebook. Just the other day something about Iron Man 2020 and Arno Stark was announced. The first appearance in Machine Man (LS) is selling for about $20 on eBay. My LCS had the whole set bundled for $5 sitting in a long box on the salesfloor for the last 20 years and not a single person was interested.

BTW CPG update your Machine Man listings. LOL

OK with that being the case With Arno Stark where did this info come from? Is he going to be in a movie? And why are alot of the old Moon Knight comics going thru the roof? I know the TV show but that's not even out yet...Where is the info coming from?

There is NO info here on why certain books are going up just "rumors" and "maybe" tv,movie etc.

I agree with admin post - comics do jump quickly based on movie announcements or some other event.

On Monday Sep 30 Spider-Girl #59 was a $3 comics. Tuesday I sold on CPG for $7 - and this was a good sales price on eBay on Monday. Sep 30th. On Wednesday this comic was $49. REASON - Benjy Parker was joining the Spider-Verse.

Welcome to the crazy! Enjoy!

KDS

What are the odds of that book STAYING that price and where in the media is Benji Parker? A New comic series? An animated movie? etc?

I don't get it crap like this is going thru the roof but books like Flash rebirth #29 & 30 with the first appearance of Bloodwork are $2-3 and he's the big bad for season 6 of the flash....go figure that's actually happening and nothing...WOW!

Hi there, I'm a comic collector in Australia and I've recently started adding to my collection. How can I be sure that any of the sellers comic gradings are accurate on this site? I've already found quite a few comics I want to purchase but want to be sure that the grades of comics I purchase are accurate. Are the grades of the comics being sold verified? How does it work?

Cheers, matt

Be careful with some people they just list the books on the site without seeing what it showing up as 9.4 when it really isn't

Because they don't care

How come certain people (Of late) have the inside track on "hot comics" that were/are worthless and no one cared about (or new one's) that all of a sudden became "hot" and are going for FULL price or more....Hmmmmm sounds fishy...???

There is no mystery on what types of comics will ultimately hold value or increase. First appearances of new characters always have potential. Some people focus on them and target them for their collection. For every comic that becomes hot, there are five more that have the same potential. Some people are sitting on current duds that will eventually increase in demand.

Then explain how Punchline was so popular and sold out even BEFORE the issues she was in ever hit retail shelves.

Only certain people knew she was coming and had no idea about her appearances until the last minute.

I don't know how you missed Punchline. I don't follow any spec sites and knew she was coming a month before hand. But there are 2 kinds of comic buyers the ones that go pick up their books and leave, and then ones like me that practically spend the whole Wednesday talking comics with the owners and customers.

Yes AFTER the fact and alot of comic book stores kept ALL of the books then sat on them for bigger dollars even though they were not worth it yet so they never made it to the shelf UNLESS you either knew the comic book store owner or got lucky...When some things are known like this the general person will never get a chance...

And god forbid trying to buy it on E-Bay because even though it's "Worth" one price it's going to go for 3-4 times because of stupid greedy ass people so why the hell would I pay for a RAW book 3-4 times that is going to drop and never hold it's value....

I'm been on here for many years now with mostly positive feedback/reviews but one thing needs to be addressed:

If I had contact with someone and do not remember it don't get pissed and start screaming for the mod's or threats or no conversation..

We are all adults not little children it seems like some people need to GROW UP and TALK things out instead of screaming and throwing fits like a child....(Or don't talk with people that's always childish too)

Don't people realize these are COMIC BOOKS!!!!!! not anything life threatening....Jesus take a chill pill

Taskmaster, you know that I have worked with you in the past about bad sellers. I've deleted their accounts or ended every auction they have. It's not fair to throw out your comment about people being on here for years and not responding. I'm here to help and make this the best place to buy comics. If you have someone specific that you've had a problem with please let me know with an email.

We have an automated system that will put all auctions into vacation mode (invisible to everyone but them) if someone hasn't logged into the site in 3 months. If someone reports that a seller is unresponsive, I will investigate. We have been able to resolve all issues through one means or another.

OK then what happened to my post in the admin section?

It brought up some valid points about people calling fowl for god know's what....

EX: "You made an offer on two of my books" you didn't pay for them yesterday so I'm turning you in" That's what I had to deal with and other's who think I slighted them etc. when I have no clue who they are but that's ok people can make up stories here's one you have books for sale I have money I buy they sell 90% of the people here are cool and the one's that are crying all the time are crying for what not being on here 24/7 or if I don't pay for a book yesterday even though no invoice or some other excuse...if these people actually TALKED about it instead of crying about it it wouldn't be this bad...I won't put the names out here but if you want them LMK

In your post, you talk about people needing to take a chill pill. Yet, here you are ranting again about this same situation. This is a situation that is best solved by you two talking about it. When that doesn't work, then you can involve CPG. It's not that big of a deal, no one got in trouble or banned or socially shunned.
Ron

But like I said before Ron we are selling "comic books" people tend to believe we are selling something more important in life...This is a hobby and people should communicate. And I do rant but just to get people to realize what they are doing and that is NOT selling it's playing childish games on things like "He said........"

Just buy and sell books and be civil about it that's all if someone wants to pull a fast one or won't sell to someone "Who did something to them" when it didn't happen is crazy.

I got to my local comic shop and the guys are cool and alot of people here too are because we COMMUNICATE like adults do when you have a problem and make up an excuse why you won't sell to certain people is wrong.

Why would you not want communications about books you've indicated you are willing to sell? Is it that you're selling them on eBay and you don't want to be messaged via CPG, or something?

Some people put outrageous offers on books, you know, like $1,000,000 on a $10 book, just so nobody else can put a reasonable offer on it. smile

I have seen that but other people put offers like $15-20 on that same $10 book...That's just as bad
