We have several great sellers here on Comics Price Guide. I've bought from some of them and had no issues. They are great members of our community who help collectors.
Today, I was informed of a seller who had $1 on all auction and then never accepted an offer. That seller has had all their listings removed until they can explain what's happening. If no reasonable explanation is given, their account will be deleted. Technically, the transaction is between the buyer and the seller but if we know there is a problem we will step in to help.
I'm publically saying this (without using their name) because we want you to know that we are watching this kind of thing. We want this to be a safe place to purchase comics and to grow a great community. R

I've bought thousands of books on CPG and your right, most are great. I know of at least a dozen though (including the one you're talking about) that never respond to offers and the offers just expire over and over, very annoying.

Thanks Ron for the post. I have been an active member here for a little over month and have come to greatly value the exiting market place. During that time I have made three large bulk orders testing out the system and everything has been great. Actually will be a repeat buyer from several sellers....in actuality the main problem is that there are too many sellers and not enough money.
I believe I found the seller you mentioned and put bids on a league number of books, along with other sellers we bid back and forth just to have the bids cancelled. I emailed the seller thinking this was an error on my side...after watching something for 3 or 4 days it is so annoying to see this happen.
So I certainly applaud you for being active and watching this activity and prohibiting the practice.
Thanks

I'm fairly new to this site so it is good to know the people in charge keep tabs on things like bad sellers.

Yes but still some people who haven't been on here for years still have books here and are not responding...accounts should either be deleted or frozen

Taskmaster, you know that I have worked with you in the past about bad sellers. I've deleted their accounts or ended every auction they have. It's not fair to throw out your comment about people being on here for years and not responding. I'm here to help and make this the best place to buy comics. If you have someone specific that you've had a problem with please let me know with an email.
We have an automated system that will put all auctions into vacation mode (invisible to everyone but them) if someone hasn't logged into the site in 3 months. If someone reports that a seller is unresponsive, I will investigate. We have been able to resolve all issues through one means or another. Ron

OK then what happened to my post in the admin section?
It brought up some valid points about people calling fowl for god know's what....
EX: "You made an offer on two of my books" you didn't pay for them yesterday so I'm turning you in" That's what I had to deal with and other's who think I slighted them etc. when I have no clue who they are but that's ok people can make up stories here's one you have books for sale I have money I buy they sell 90% of the people here are cool and the one's that are crying all the time are crying for what not being on here 24/7 or if I don't pay for a book yesterday even though no invoice or some other excuse...if these people actually TALKED about it instead of crying about it it wouldn't be this bad...I won't put the names out here but if you want them LMK edited by Taskmaster on 6/2/2020 edited by Taskmaster on 6/2/2020

We moved your post from the "missing issues" area to the General comic Discussion area.
https://comicspriceguide.com/forum/topic15264-people-need-to-talk-instead-of.aspx
In your post, you talk about people needing to take a chill pill. Yet, here you are ranting again about this same situation. This is a situation that is best solved by you two talking about it. When that doesn't work, then you can involve CPG. It's not that big of a deal, no one got in trouble or banned or socially shunned. Ron

But like I said before Ron we are selling "comic books" people tend to believe we are selling something more important in life...This is a hobby and people should communicate. And I do rant but just to get people to realize what they are doing and that is NOT selling it's playing childish games on things like "He said........"
Just buy and sell books and be civil about it that's all if someone wants to pull a fast one or won't sell to someone "Who did something to them" when it didn't happen is crazy.
I got to my local comic shop and the guys are cool and alot of people here too are because we COMMUNICATE like adults do when you have a problem and make up an excuse why you won't sell to certain people is wrong.

Then what to do with a seller who doesn't honor the agreement of a buyer by not accepting offers? No matter what the deal with the seller is?
I always thought sellers were here to SELL and MAKE money and buyers to get books to complete their collections...That's what I always thought.... edited by Taskmaster on 6/7/2020

Taskmaster, As I mentioned before, deal with these things between you and the seller and if necessary involve me. Calling this seller out on the forum is bad form on your part. Sending mean spirited messages to sellers is wrong as well. You cannot do that. There is no excuse for it. We want a friendly community for buyers and sellers.
"Then what to do with a seller who doesn't honor the agreement of a buyer by not accepting offers? No matter what the deal with the seller is?"
If a seller does not accept your offer, there is no agreement. It takes two to form an agreement. See above for possible reason they won't sell to you. Ron

it takes two but if only one is communicating how far does that really go? With all of the petty things with some people it is childish learn to be an adult and talk things thru do not be a child and go screaming to "Mommy & Daddy"
And if I'm not mistaken you said person a has a price on a book person b makes offer on book book is sold then feedback is given how hard is that? Too many people here are taking it PERSONAL for something that isn't. I don't see this as a big issue EXCEPT when one part cries foul all the time and no explanation is giving to you guys etc. for the reason. I want to make money and SELL books I guess not alot of people do because it's a game to them...And they don't communicate so it's the buyers fault...how rich edited by Taskmaster on 8/1/2020 edited by Taskmaster on 8/1/2020 edited by Taskmaster on 8/1/2020 edited by Taskmaster on 8/2/2020
