Capn Doug's information makes sense - see also unofficial Chronology of Zero Hour here http://www.dcuguide.com/chronology.php?name=ZEROHOUR
JLI #68 is just prior to Zero Hour # 0 (They counted backward 4,3,2,1...) At zero everything went blank. Call it artistic license. edited by kds_comics on 5/5/2016 |

I have several Tarzan and Korak comics that I have been unable to locate information on. They all have a "W" logo (like Warner Brothers), were published by top Sellers Ltd. in Thurmaston, Leicester, Printed in Hungary, and Copyright 1975 or 1976 by Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc. They all have the face of the character (Tarzan or Korak) in a circle located in the top left corner (where the DC logo appears for many DC comics). The printed price on the cover of each is 10p. Would appreciate any information regarding these comics. Individual Titles:
Edgar Rice Burroughs KORAK Son Of Tarzan, No64, "Captured by Pygmies" (IMAGE ATTACHED) Edgar Rice Burroughs KORAK Son Of Tarzan, No65, "Featuring the final chapter in our great Korak serial!" Edgar Rice Burroughs KORAK Son Of Tarzan, No66, "The Spirit Thieves & The Secret Of Mount Kelawi" Edgar Rice Burroughs KORAK Son Of Tarzan, No67, "The Medallion's Curse & Humans for Sale" Edgar Rice Burroughs TARZAN Of The Apes, No.109, "An Innocent Princess Is Sentenced to Death" Edgar Rice Burroughs TARZAN Of The Apes, No.110, "The Invisible Flame" (IMAGE ATTACHED) Edgar Rice Burroughs TARZAN Of The Apes, No.112, "Goligho's Revenge" edited by DougT1676 on 5/4/2016
These British comics are from Williams Publishing. More information on Williams that you may want is here http://www.thewildstars.com/TarzansBritishHeritage.html
Mostly these are UK reprints of Dell and Gold Key 1950's comics with some new material. I suspect the indica may still say "Tarzan of the Apes" even though the title says "Korak, Son of Tarzan" Williams is cataloged on CPG here http://comicspriceguide.com/publishers/williams-publishing-and-distributing
BTW - apparently CPG could use the pics! edited by kds_comics on 5/5/2016 |

Thank you so much! I've submitted the Tarzan title scans for review, but was unable to locate CPG's Williams Publishing Korak title pages. Did the printing information actually list title as "Tarzan"? - web was a little unclear - that was just my best guess. edited by kds_comics on 5/6/2016 |

If so, maybe the $300 offer was a low ball offer and you're being ignored.
Is that possible?

I have meant to add to this post more often - especially weekdays at lunc time. I have a new NO FUN policy at work. Internet BAD - Pretending you are doing work, even if you are not - GOOD
Okay, enough whining - no one is listening anyway. I am geek-ed (apparently not a word, since CPG spell check says so), Also I have tried to reduce the size foe they load faster.
Here's My Hot Rods and Racing Cars comics from back in the early 1970's. Dig it!

Here's a socially relevant Iron Man from the 1970's

DC was re-creating the 1930's

Before getting the occasion socially relevant "buddy movie" comic going.

In the late 1970's DC was back to being less socially relevant - doing - what ever the heck this is...
Okay - I have completely gotten away from what I was talking about - but hey - a comic from 1976? Got it! . |

What I started to say before I interrupted myself in the last post (how rude) was that I picked up a couple of cool comics yesterday. Here's the first one - some dirt on the cover that I hope will clean up. Holograph looks better in scanner!

Here's a decent condition Millie the Model Comic - very hard to find - folks that have them tend to hang on like a hair in a biscuit... so to speak. Great color on the cover. Art by Stan Goldberg. Written by ...Denny O'Neil?!?. And you wondered what he did before he wrote Green Arrow comics!

Here is one - I picked up some time ago. Never seen in 30 years of collecting comics. Parody comic using term "We're so In, we're out!" a cool saying at the time. Really! Interior of back cover - poster of Herman's Hermits. - Inside front cover - poster of the Rolling Stones - direct from 1966!
Speaking of parody comics - I leave you with a the Stever Gerber classic - arguably the funniest comic of all time - in the mist of the song "Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting" and everything from cooking to leadership being taught in 7 or 8 easy lessons (Just send in you $3.95) . Steve Gerber writes the tale to teach the Alien Duck Kung Fu in 7 easy lessons - in one night!.

Up next time - 1970's monster comics!

Pitt # 1

For some unusual reason this comic does no come up in the title search. Perhaps is was printed in Canada or something. Here it is. http://comicspriceguide.com/titles/pitt/shqu
More info here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitt_(comics) and here http://comicvine.gamespot.com/pitt/4005-25635/
Per wiki, Pitt #1 this was the second largest print run for November of 1992. behind Death of Superman comic. Unfortunately print runs were very large at that time - I have a will stocked LCS and would have a good change of getting this comic for $1 in average to above average condition. I believe the autograph adds some value. Same as any autographs to a sports card or celebrity photo - at least an additional $10 IMHO. edited by kds_comics on 5/25/2016 |

I would have to agree about the JLA cover, what is up with that? Bad animals with weapons? Ha, I'd buy it to read no doubt. I am still a sucker for holograph cards and covers. They are just cool looking to me and yep, when flooded by the scanner light they can show very well. One of my favorite holograph card is the skydisc for Batman. They also had it on a cd size disk and it is cool to say the least. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SEALED-1994-DC-Comics-Batman-Promo-Skybox-Dark-Knight-Skydisc-/272246468462?hash=item3f63276f6e:g:5dwAAOSwVcFXO77j http://www.ebay.com/itm/Batman-1994-Skydisc-Hologram-Skybox-SD1-/361559161014?hash=item542e9af8b6:g:Rm4AAOSwPYZU4uIC
Millie the Model, I just don't get it really. I know some collectors love it and can cost a bunch, just not my deal though. Do you have many? Good writing in them? edited by Jokerbangedquinn on 5/22/2016
Millie represented a "slice of life" of a teenager growing up in the 1960's. (i.e the modern world!). Most early issues were written by Stan Lee. He was also writing Patsy Walker, and at the same - Fantastic Four, Avengers, the occasional Spider-Man, and others too numerous to name. He literally wrote 8 to 10 comics a month. If you lived during that time, it is nostalgic. Think "Andy Griffith Show" - What was it about? - the personality of the characters in their daily life. Millie and Patsy comics have the same type of story.
Cool skydisk - Thanks for sharing the link. . |

The main flaw I saw in the Civil War movie was the villain who seemed to be, at first, a very formidable foe(especially with the name 'Zemo') only to keep 'melting' down to an almost ordinary guy who couldn't even off himself at the end. They always say the villain makes or breaks the story.
I did just see the movie myself. Yes, the name Zemo makes you think of a scientist, not a _____ ___ from _____. Sorry - trying not to give too much away. Let's say Zemo was a soldier.
I did like the characterization and personal conflict between the heroes.
I find it hard to really like a movie with very personal motives. I did like the younger Spider-Man (and no, he does not shut up). I also liked that they down played the government registration thing. I always thought that was let's say unnecessary bureaucratic.(i.e boring!)
Just IMHO.
