I deleted your "guest" post since you reposted it.

We haven't really talked about changing the grade for new books lately. We have talked about getting rid of 10.0 since it's extremely rare and it gives people a false sense of value. Some people only look at the top number and say they have a book valued at that crazy high price.

If you add them to your collection on the site then you can mark them for sale. Grading is part of that. Or you could make a classified ad with the entire collection for sale. The classified ad could be faster but you'll make less money. A third option is to go to a local comic shop, who is trustworthy, and see what they will offer you for them. Please remember that knowledge is power so adding them here to understand the value is extremely helpful.

The price is for a book with the tattoos. I'm not sure how the price would drop without the tats.

Daniel,
I've never heard of that. Can you give me a screenshot to show this? My email is [email protected] or you can post it here.

If someone isn't signed in to Comics Price Guide it won't show any values and if you're signed in you can see both sets of values. That's a strange one.

Adding missing variants?

I looked in the variants that need to be approved and there isn't a Poe Dameron #1 or an Avengers book in the list. So either someone has already approved it or it was deleted for some reason. You'll have to look and let me know if it's there now.

Recently we lowered the number of variants to zero and proudly announced it. That sent a flood of new variants for approval. Currently we have 200 books across all publishers waiting approval. Not bad when you consider the number of variants released each week.

In general, some of the numbers on this site are insane. Over 10,000 issues were added to people's collection yesterday. Almost 16,000 new users have been on the site this week and we are in the slow season. The blog is up 187% from last year according to Google. The point is that we are growing and people are putting in more and more information that needs to be approved. You can help. By submitting variants, like you've been doing and by going to this page and confirming data. https://comicspriceguide.com/verify-data

First of all, thank you for throwing this out here, it's a great topic.

After I posted those two Mattina checklists I heard about this controversy. To me, the venomized covers are supposed to be the same art with Venom-like qualities added. Some of the other things seems more dubious. Usually you will see the new artist name and then "after Kirby" when they use some other artists work. That's honest and easily acknowledges someone.

Conventions are the wild west. You'll see all kinds of things that are all shades of grey. (Not that shades of grey)

New Box Feature

When you go into your comic book boxes (here at CPG and not at home)

https://comicspriceguide.com/organize/

When you look in the boxes or the unorganized issues, duplicate issues are listed together to save space. Typically on that page, you will see a green button, blue button, and a red button (edit, sell and trash respectively). For issues with more than one copy, you will now see one orange button. You can click the orange button to the right and see each issue if you would like. For stores and people who collect multiple issues of the same book, we think this will be very helpful to you. It allows you to see more issues per page.

We are planning to implement this same kind of thing in other areas of the site.

You didn't give us the title of the book so we don't know exactly what you're talking about.

If the copy is a photocopy there is no way that is a medium grade (6.5) book. It has to be NG or No grade in my opinion.

STAN LEE SIGNATURE

Right now? It's worth a ton. Sounds like you have a good book to own!

Some thoughts.
1. Stan Lee went to countless conventions and shows and charged nearly $100 a pop. (Based on shows a few years ago) Everyone who wanted his autograph has his autograph, except for speculators and procrastinators.
2. Stan Lee was extremely instrumental in so many comic characters. His importance to the hobby cannot be overstated.
3. This is the worst time to buy a Stan Lee autographed piece and the best time to sell one.

Before his death, I would say around $100 but now it's insane.

Basement, I've added the Guest of Honor book. Never seen that book before.

Helpful hint - If you give us a good cover scan it speeds up the process. A good scan is focused, no glare and squared off (no side angles)
Enjoy your weekend everyone,

Did you like it?

Watching the previews I was struck with how ripped James McAvoy was in this film. He doesn't look like the same guy who played Charles Xavier. I need his personal trainer. smile

If you click on your user name in the upper right you'll see a dropdown.
In that dropdown click on "view collection"
https://comicspriceguide.com/collection/
To the left of each publisher is a red "x", click on that to delete everything in that publisher.

1st Wolverine vs 1st Punisher That's a good one.

For this example, the grade plays a huge factor. A 9.8 of a less expensive book vs. a 9.4. That's a tough one.

In general, the Walmart books are almost always worth more than you pay for them. (Maybe 2 or 3 are cover price still) With this Lois controversy, it's a good book to have extras. I would sell one now while the hype is still around and save one for later if it's a long term gain.
