site stuff that's overdue to be fixed

We don't have the ability to change the code for the forum since it's a packaged purchase. You can change the profile picture in the main site and that will show the same image in the forum. That link will never work since the forum is no longer supported by the company that made it. I guess most forums are becoming a thing of the past. We've talked about ending our forum as well.

Deleting old messages, we are looking at that now.

So why after 2+ years since I've been asking about that profile link has no one admitted it CAN'T be changed? I wouldn't have kept emailing and posting about it if I'd been told that. I was also under the impression that the 'new' forum was mostly built by you all, but guess not. It wasn't a great improvement over the old forum, it lost multiple useful and standard features most forums have, and you lost lots of forum members at the time when everyone had to re-register. It wasn't a good purchase in the long run, especially if there's no way to edit it and the company that made it won't support it now.

Your answer also finally explains why you (Bryan that is) haven't been able to add a logout/profile/user link at the top like the rest of the site has (why that was not included in the original design boggles my mind), but all I've been told is that the 'forum is separate and different code that it'd just be a pain to edit it,' not that it COULDN'T be edited, same as most purchased forum software. So another couple years of asking about that that wasn't necessary.

Instead of thinking about ending your forums, it's maybe time to look into another piece of better forum software, plenty out there to choose from. I know you all don't have deep pockets like CGC does, but their forum software has lots of features, and it stays pretty busy, although every software update causes some complaints, but what else is new? You can certainly cut down on the number of forums and weed out the very slow ones, but you really need to keep the 'help' ones so other members can help take the load off CPG employees a bit. Of course you run the risk of losing more forum members again if we all have to re-register and all the old posts go away etc, so maybe a no-win sitch.

As for the classifieds ads Subject line glitch when we edit an ad, is that ever going to be fixed? You said back in March that it had been fixed, and it never has been. I think 7 months later is enough time to either fix it or say it can't be fixed. It didn't used to do that, so one would assume some software update is causing a formatting problem, and maybe that can't be changed now either. Only workaround is to delete and repost the ad, which doesn't take long if you've saved it, but I bet lots of people don't keep a copy, so they have to retype it all.

And yes I'm aware of the new monumental tasks you all have decided to tackle, re the newsstand UPC code listings, and the country listings revamp, and I envy you not. But you have a UX problem with the ads that's not making them look good, so hoping bryan can ferret/weasel/badger that out ("we don' need no steenkeen badgers!"), or tell us it's not fixable.

I do appreciate the work that goes into this site, and as noted before, I wait months before asking about stuff again, so I don't think I'm being impatient on these things. Now that I know some can't be fixed, I'll stop worrying about them.
Thanks Ron.

Can't Find THIMBLE THEATRE PRESENTS POPEYE

collectibleshop
collectibleshop
looked every which way I could think of on here, google, comics.org, mycomicshop, popeye wiki etc, and only thing that matches up is Comic Album #7 from Dell, Sept 1959, with a Popeye Goon Island story in it, so have to assume this is it: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/comic-album/7/sorxh

In the future, try to find a pic of the cover to post a link to, and check inside for the correct title etc. The Dell comic album stuff is still copyrighted by King Features according to comics.org's page on it, so maybe you have a coverless copy and only have the one story? more info at https://www.comics.org/issue/204366/#876558

There is no listings anywhere for a King Features Thimble Theatre (or theater either) #7 for Popeye as a comic that I could find, so found the comic album #7 on comics.org searching on 'popeye goon'. comics.org searches story titles and character names too, so great way to find some things that you can't find elsewhere very quickly.

yep, not there. for future info, you can report a missing variant in the title's guide listing and upload a pic.
go to https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/kaptara/1/pjuwjru , click on the Variants tab, click on the red 'Report Missing Variant' button in lower right after the other covers, and fill in the info boxes as best you can, and upload the pic from your computer/phone, and they'll get to it when they get to it.
here's a good pic: http://www.nerdspan.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/872421429641387596.jpg

Other than the watermark it's a good image.

oops, argh, shoulda known better with MCS, but didn't see that light watermark, so edited my post and used another pic link. Image Comics site's pic has lots of white border, and comics.org and another database site also didn't have pics of this variant, so hope nerdspan doesn't mind...

it's a Marvel UK title, so it's under the UK country dropdown, as all UK titles are. here it is:
https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/deaths-head-ii/4/posxm
always try using the 'all countries' choice when you can't find something you'd normally be sure is listed.

books with apostrophes always cause trouble. the apostrophe on these is at the end, not before the S. but always try fewer keywords and cut out words with 'punctuation' and see if they come up then.

Anything from January 1968

collectibleshop

You might be waiting a while on this query, so it might be faster to use this resource site that will list comics by sale date, or by cover date, whichever you prefer, so you can see what was out then, and then you can look up ones of interest here, and check the "for sale by" link on their pages and see who here has what, then contact them thru the message system and see if you get any replies.

It's Mike's Amazing World, this link is set for the 'sale date' of January 1968, and for all publishers, not sure if it will 'remember' that, but just use the drop down boxes to set your filters if not. http://www.mikesamazingworld.com/mikes/features/newsstand.php?publisher=all&type=calendar&month=1&year=1968&sort=alpha

the other choice for month is 'cover date', so that's what to use if you want them to have 'Jan' on the cover date (if they note that, many won't). otherwise the Jan 'sale' date is when they hit the newsstands, but the cover date may be a couple months different. you can choose particular publishers too.
good luck.

that's what the price guide here is for. this is the listing for the 1977 Star Wars series:
https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/star-wars/rnpt

the default results will show the variant issues, but the pics are small, so you'll have to click on 1 and then click the 'variants' tab, and click on those to see bigger pics and match ones to what you have.
to go to issue #1 directly: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/star-wars/1/pjxvor
there are all kinds of info/resource sites for this stuff too. comics.org is another good one. surely there's some Star Wars Comics wiki sites too.
And I don't know you well enough to 'bare' with you (no one wants to see that), but I'll bear with you, and I don't mean Bear Grylls style either, too much adventure for me smile

Titan is a UK publisher, so it'd be under UK in the country drop down, but using 'all countries' is the best bet, as Basement noted. Marvel UK titles are also just under UK. Same with Canadian published titles that may be commonly distributed in the US, so try using 'all countries' when you can't find a title at first.

they don't usually list informational books like this, as it's not a comic book. if you check out the other 'related' books on the page link you posted, you'll see those aren't listed either.
