Wanted: Graded Comics

I am looking to expand my collection of graded comics. I am looking for a significant discount to CPG Value - will purchase in volume. Prefer to do smaller deal first before spending $100 - $5000 . Also will trade - let me know if you see what you like. https://comicspriceguide.com/members/kdscomics KDS edited by kds_comics on 3/25/2019 |

Agree small defects can make a difference in value and in eye appeal. I always give a money back guarantee for any raw grade I put on a comics. Disappointing a fellow collector is definitely uncool. JIMHO.

The first two items on your list have been fixed now.
The issues related to how the forum and our website interact. (The forum is technically a different website in a different programming language. From a users point of view, you cannot tell the difference.) We cannot fix those with the current setup. We would have to change the forum to something else. While it looks like a small issue, it's actually a major undertaking.
I don't think people understand the amount of work involved in keeping a site this big up and running. There are millions of lines of code and one man, Bryan, keeps it all running. Be patient as we add new features, fix minor issues and dream up new ideas. R
Let me say to the admins and programmers at CPG - - THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
Many of us understand and appreciate the work you do. Some of us work in tech/computer related jobs in the real world. I would add is it good to let folks vent - it is okay - you CPG admins area all okay - users need to share their feelings (just please be polite). Nothing personal - folks just need to get it out there!
Perhaps a poll for new features would be good - they you would get a snapshot of what users feel is important. Feedback is good. |

You can find Eros Comix as an imprint of Fantagraphics. here.I find it is sometimes easier to look up by publisher - especially if title and "copyright do not match exactly. Hope this helps on future Eros issues.

Offers On The Marketplace

This is an excellent line of discussion - probably should be aired more here at CPG.
First. this is a collector to collector site - so most folks are not eBay-rs - don't have time to check in every day (exception for compulsive addicts ones like me). Even if you are traveling / can't check in daily ' folks should be courteous enough to others to check in weekly and give response. Second, I see no reason to ask for buyer's email. I keep no database of a customer's email. I may ask for seller to email me to verify they have the comics - especially if they do not put a picture online - but that is all.
That said - perhaps a courtesy (or responsive) rating would be in order. Or have the positive/negative rating be extended beyond the completed transaction completion. This way we could include vote up or down if member is responsive or not in the positive and negative voting area.
Make me an offer - I will accept.

Agree - You need to get it out of the polybag. Over time the acid in the paper will eat into the pages and fade them!!! Get them out!!! Put in a new bag and board. You can keep the poly bag with the comic and it deceases the value exactly $0. Where fading of interior pages will decrease the value. |

Yeah, I picked up a fifth print of issue #5.
I attempted to put in the publication data - but it may be incorrect Many of these reprints omit the month and only put the copyright year of the reprint. This one is 1988 - no month given.
Anyway we can change the system to put in just a year? Not trying to forget something or short change you - there just isn't any month.
Thanks KDS |

I have had problems with buyers as well. Off site is fine with me but insist buyers use PalPay. Scammers will avoid this as it is tracacible. The will suggest they send you a check or ask for number from Google Play or Amazon or other gift card. Or will try to gather personal information.
Strongly suggest you insist on PayPal or no deal. This will get rid of spammers.

Want to Buy - Bronze, Silver and Golen Age Comics

Looking to Bronze/Silver/Golden age comics.
Especially looking for early Marvel Amazing Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Avengers, X-Men, more. Looking for Silver and Golden Age Batman, Silver Age Green Lantern, Justice League, Flash, more.
Also looking for 1) 1970's Underground comics - Robert Crumb Zap and Mr Natural; Freak Brothers, other underground comics 2) Looking for Variants - prefer graded - any Wizard 1/2 issue, Vampriella, Red Sonja, Grimm's Fairy Tales, others.
As fellow collectors - we know condition is critical to the correct pricing - I try to by 40% - 70% off Guide in volume. I am willing to give a "down payment" and grade the books myself if you have a lot of comics you have not graded. Will pay a fair price.

This is just for me, not for resale.
Before Art Balthazar and Franco were famous for Tiny Titans, Superman Family, Itty Bitty Hellboy and other fun comics they started as independent publishers. One of their First comics was "Weirdsville" from late 1990's.
Will trader my Patrick the Wolf Boy comics or other modern comics for Weirdsville. edited by kds_comics on 5/21/2019 |

You can do an .csv export by publisher - see the subject under "How to Use CPG" under the top menu item "About" . This will send you to the YouTube videos - they are pretty good.
I do wish you could simply export the entire collection or export by "box". Both would be useful. Subject has been suggested - any import/export poses coding and information security issues - so not a simple task.

trying to figure out conditions on comics
kds_comics
|
I agree with Robot - Heritage Auction site guide is excellent. I also like this one https://www.nostomania.com/servlets/com.nostomania.CatPage?name=ComicsGradingMain
The simple way to think about this is - a 5.0 comics (Very Good/Fine) is in "average" condition. Flat - slight wear on cover, normal interior page fading over time.
6.0 - 9.0 are various grades of "above average" condition - nice color, few stress lines, and lightly faded pages.
2.0 - 4.5 are various g4ades of "below average - from 2.0 with a few tears and worn pages to 4.0 - 4.5 - just below average with spine roll or extra wear.
Hope this helps.

Could you check the CPG values on this one? May be a bit low in mid to low grades.
2.0 Good recently sold for $10.50 on eBay. If you consider shipping as part of price comics is still $6 - $7 range.

Thanks for the pointer KDS, however it looks like there is only a xlsx version you can export. That export looks nice, the formatting just makes its useless if you're trying to do any sort of meaningful analysis of your collection. It looks great if you want to print it out for taking it out hunting so to speak, for data I need I'd spend more time reformatting it since it splits out per publisher and the by tabs by Alphabet and the layout makes any sort of sorting impossible. To make an export actually useful outside of just having a printed list, it would nice to have the option of data exported with columns like (Title, Issue #, publisher, price paid, current value), this is would be very useful for those of us that need it for sorting and figure out what I can let go and tracking changes over time, etc. It give me actual tools to work with my data how I'd like to rather than have a formatted version of it.
I have to say someone did have to put in some effort to have the data presented the way it exports now (see attached png), what I'm hoping to see in the future if possible is to "dumb that down" and give users/subscribers a more basic output to work with so we can work our own magic on the data.
Thanks again,
Yes, the current export is an excel file. A .csv is a more "program independent" database file - not tied to Microsoft. It can imported or just opened by Excel. I suggested this as it is easier to code from SQL or what ever mainframe program this sight runs on. The industry database language of choice is SQL. Usually easier to code SQL as .csv than to convert to Microsoft format. KDS edited by kds_comics on 5/29/2019 |

All
Can you do a Price check on Jungle Action Comics (1972)? Specifically Issues #7 - #24.
Comic Book Realms has these as $25 in NM while CPG is holding to $8 each.
#12 about a 6.0 sold on May 30 for $14.95 plus shipping. Actual sales are way off compared to CPG guide value of $1.60 in 6.0.
Similar for #12 and #13 sold May 31 - about a 7.0 sold for $15 each.
Anyway - if you could check prices here or add to your list to check soon? Thanks
