Whats the feeling on opening comics that are sealed in plastic because they are some kind of special release? I have some questions and would love some feedback: 1. Does it hurt the value? 2. Will it eventually damage the comics? I ask this question because I was once told that the plastic that is used is normally of the cheaper variety and not acid free so over time the comic will be damaged.
any other opinions or information would be welcome.
Currently what I am doing, is opening the package and bagging/boarding the comic properly, but on the opposite side of the board away from the comic, I am saving the plastic, IF it had some kind of writing on it.

IMHO - Open it and read it, that's what comics are there for! :-)
After reading seal it in a good quality Mylar edited by Biddle7819 on 4/17/2019

I would free it from the bag. The bag isn't archive quality like a Mylar or enjoy the benefits of being slabbed. We at Comics Price Guide don't mark down on an unbagged copy because you have to unbag it to be able to grade it.

Agree - You need to get it out of the polybag. Over time the acid in the paper will eat into the pages and fade them!!! Get them out!!! Put in a new bag and board. You can keep the poly bag with the comic and it deceases the value exactly $0. Where fading of interior pages will decrease the value.
