Good information here
https://blog.ha.com/2017/11/comics-blog-just-how-valuable-is-your-double-cover-comics/
Short answer is that it is more valuable. The caveat is modern comics with double covers do not generate as much interest
(i.e interest = value). So there is some value - how much is open to debate. |

You appear to have an anomaly here where the raw grade is higher than the graded comic value for some (not all) condition grades.
Maybe just a math error

hello all,new to selling stuff here but was curious ,does eyeryone use paypal, money orders, and personal checks??
PayPal is a proven third party entity to transfer money between one bank and another. No training required.Follow the online instructions.
Some buyers are tech adverse - so money order is a good option.
You need to know what you are doing to accept personal checks - checks can take up to six working days to kick back as a "bad check". This is just the way the banking system works. My opinion is you need to have a good understanding of banking to take checks.

Sometimes it's good to pull back the curtain and let you all know what's going on behind the scenes. Our admins and members have been working hard to lower the number of things in the approval cue. Here is an update for today.
Missing scans - 0 Missing variants - 0 Missing issues - 0 Missing published dates - 30 Missing cover prices - 7 Missing creators - 578 (This is creators who are in the system and need to be approved for a specific book.) New creators that need to be approved - 806 (I'm currently working through this list)
Missing Stories and zero value books are too high still.
In the 13 months that I've worked at CPG, I've never seen the numbers this low. We are making great progress but we will never be caught up. Thank you to everyone approving things on the site! Ron
Thanks - keep up the great work. And give yourself a raise - it is on me. |

You have to mail off your comic to CGC or CBCS grading services. Information is on their websites.
If you have a large local comic store, likely they will assist you in doing this if you ask about it.
The CBCS site is here https://www.cbcscomics.com/ |

Hell- and hope you are well - and having a happy holiday season!!!
Going to "My Comic Boxes" today - when I hit the "down" icon for a box, I fail to get the "Open" button to open the box. Perhaps it is just me.

Yes, using arrows associated with the box on the left.
I may have a "persistence of vision" problem on the monitor - have logged off and back in with same issue. Will try to add screen shot.

The grand Comic Database lists 18 different years DC has published a comic titled "Secret Files and Origins" in four different languages.
You really need to find the year published on this one and look up by DC publisher, country and year. |

Report errors to this website.
http://www.recalledcomics.com/index.php
A one-off mis-marking or mis-printing error is not a variant, not a recall, not a new listing at CPG IMHO. It is what it is - a print mistake on one issue. See 1970's comics - it happened all the time that print was not square on the page and other printing error. "Double vision" printing was not uncommon. If the error is significant, it kills the value the comic does have - collectors want it pristine. Personally - I would not want the copy you have - I want a nice one.

Hey guys, I am a noob around this neck of the woods. One of my buddies got me back into collecting. That's become a love/hate relationship. I know "The Nam" is not a valuable series. I still however enjoyed it immensely. Now that I am collecting again, I wanted to finish that series, whilst I do my "Punisher" collection. Its cheaper and quicker than the 804 or so "Punisher" comics(including apperances). Anyone have any idea where I might be able to track down the 37 - 84. Completing that also helps my "Punisher" collection, as well. Two birds, one stone. Thank you all and I look forward to your responses.
Put the information in the "Wanted" forum here at CPG. Also put your request on the buy/sell classified ads.
I get pretty good response that way. No guarantee. |

How do I know what shipping will be upfront? If the seller asks for an exorbitant shipping price, can I cancel, and will it impact my ratings at all? Also, if I pay and never receive the item, what sort of recourse do I have? Thanks in advance. (PS...I watched the tutorials and see nothing that explains my questions)
Wrap up what you plan to ship in shipping package. Take to Post Office (or UPS). Ask about options for shipping. Ask them to weight and give you a prices for each option. Provide price to buyer.
Shipping packaging and pricing options can be confusing at first - a little research on US Post Office website and questions in person - you will figure it out. This make take a few times of trial and error - but you have to figure out what works. Check what people are shipping for on eBay. This is a clue as to your total cost of shipping for a similar item.
DO NOT!! I repeat DO NOT ship media mail rates. I did that, they ran over the package with a truck, I have pictures of the envelope, the contents were gone and guess what? We're not responsible, it carries no insurance" How do I start a business like that? Make sure it is insured !
Shipping can be an adventure - not in a good way. There is always the possibility of damage no matter what way you ship. Insurance is a risk/reward thing. I am going to pay $5 for $100 of insurance on $10 of comics??? Probably not. For $50 of comics? Yes, likely.
You have be be willing to take the loss or put aside a few $$$ from every sale to self-insure.I disagree with Skippy on Media Mail - but you can read the rules and make your own choice. Thanks Skiiippppyyyyyy!!!!! edited by kds_comics on 1/7/2019 |

I'd like to start selling some of my comics on here, but I'm not a professional grader and I'm not sure exactly what to put for conditions. The last thing I want is to have unhappy buyers and have to have comics returned because they didn't feel I graded them correctly. Any suggestions?
There is a good grading guide with pictures here. http://artfulinvestments.com/comic-book-grading/ there is also one a Heritage Auctions and other sites - several around. I like this one as it has pictures. |

I checked on all of these, but wasn't convinced that any of them are responsible for the bottom signature. Maybe I'm wrong.
It does not look like Jim Lee https://forums.episodeinteractive.com/t/comic-book-graphic-novel-chat/831/21
Hard to find examples of comic artist signatures on the web. My guess would be Gibson - but that is only a guess.
Two ways to know - 1) send to CGC or CBCS and have signature authenticated. 2) Email each artist and ask them. Sorry I do not have a better answer.. Or you could simply enjoy it the way it is. |
