Its possible that we might not be debating the same thing, but I'm not contending the existence of outliers. I'm challenging the accuracy of the reported values that I assume are supposed to be a reflection of the bell curve. It is possible that if some unlucky soul were to compile ALL market data and perform a comprehensive analysis then we may discover that the standard deviation is much larger than anyone would've anticipated. In the event of this "wild, wild west" scenario, we may be forced to challenge the whole enterprise of formal price guides in general. Regardless, I believe that a workable deviation exists and would have to conclude that most people do as well, otherwise we wouldn't be using/relying on these guides.
My opinion is CPG does a good job and puts a rather conservative price on comics. There are occasions that I do not agree with prices here. An example is common issues from late 1970's on lower grade - usually very low priced here. I think this reflects big stores discounting and getting them off their books to focus on more profitable items. I usually sell mid to low grade 1970's comics for $2 at local comic shows (e.g. Spider-Woman, Shazam).
If you are looking to see what a comic is worth, always check more than one source. Newkadia has prices based on the Overstreet guide. Other good sources are Comic Book Realms and MyComicShop.com. Just my opinion.

What kind of envelope would you use with a single comic book? It seems like a large cost for the buyer if I use USPS Priority Mail Flat-Rate envelope to ship in. I have thousands of Marvel comics that aren't worth more than a couple of bucks each and I have no idea how to make this a worthwhile endeavor. There are a few comics that are worth real money and that will make sense but the vast majority of my collection from the 80s is not going to fetch that much.
I use an 8 1/2 by 11 inch padded mailer. Make sure cardboard or stiffener is inside the mailer. Preferably on both sides of the comic. Internal plastic bag is a good idea too. This can be as simple as a taped up grocery bag.
BTW - Media mail does have tracking - so post above is incorrect.

First - congratulations on getting a bunch of comics. And thank you for checking into them before you use for craft projects.
The cover less comics in the pictures - they have minimal value unless someone is missing an interior page - so it can be "replacement parts" for another comic. (personally I am missing the middle interior page to Mickey Mouse #32 - if you find it let me know) https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/mickey-mouse/32/powxis#mycollection
This is really a needle in a haystack trying to go this way. Cover less comics, even in complete "reading" copies, are no better than 1.0 condition. I think you will find these are minimal value. (Unless you have Superman #1 or something)
Check the values here at Comics Price Guide - if it is less than $5 I would not be concerned about making it into art.
The Classic Illustrated Comics are more difficult to find. Search by the title "Hunchback of Notre Dame" without the Classic Illustrated name. You will find that one here. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/classic-comics-18---the-hunchback-of-notre-da/pnvqk If the cover price is 15 cents or more - likely this was printed in the 1970s. Value si about $3 in average (5.0) condition.
The problem is Gilberton published a large quantity of each issue - and printed multiple publications of the same comic. So they are pretty common, Flip to the back cover and look for the "HRN" or Highest Republish Number" on the back cover. This will get you to the correct issue on the link page.
This will get you started. Message me or add to this thread if I can assist further.

I tried searching for "DC super-stars of space" issue #4 and could not find it. I tried looking by the publisher and also various ways to spell it, no luck.
I would not feel bad about this one - DC did this on several issues in late 1970's to early 1980's. This one throws folks as well.

You can export (download) all comics by publisher. It is a lot of work to get all into one file. Improvement suggestions have been noted to admins here at CPG.

If you have the covers scanned in , the highest price comics appear in your display case. Mine are here. https://comicspriceguide.com/members/kdscomics
Otherwise you must download an excel file by publisher. You can sort by price.

UPC; Why input? Whats it for?

It wouldn't hurt if they provided more info as to why it is handy to have the UPC number (and that the whole number is necessary). If you look online there are explanations of how to read a barcode for your own use. I used to not pay them much heed but over the last few years I have found them very helpful. Some of the smaller publishers don't always have the most handy barcodes but for most one only needs to look at the barcode and you can tell exactly what issue, printing, and version/variant you have.
A more practical reason is if I could link the UPC code to a product and a price - then put the information in a inventory management system - I could get a bar code reader the comics upon sales at local flea markets or pop culture shows. Then I would know what sold and for what price.
The folks at CPG are going in the right direction - perhaps just need some third part software to get to a real inventory management / Point of Sale system.
Just my unsolicited comment.

Last night I saw a preview of this movie. It seems to continue the pace of the first movie with many of the same characters. Of course they have added the character of the Ghost who first appeared in an Iron Man comic book. I found the 3D for this movie to be much further along than any previous movie I have seen. I am not saying it is super, super great, but in certain scenes it was noticeable. Most of these scenes were low key scenes. I mean something like telephone wires in the foreground contrasting greatly with something happening on the ground below. Stuff like that. Stan Lee makes another appearance in this Marvel movie and has a very funny line. There is even a Partridge Family song in the soundtrack, so you know this movie is about fun. This is a very fun movie. And yes, there is a scene at the end of the credits. edited by colbalt91 on 7/3/2018
Without giving anything away - is the scene worth staying for or is it just lame like the end of the first Avengers movie (eating sandwiches) ? I am not waiting through 8+ minutes of credits for a lame 30 second shot.

I was surprised at how few there were. I thought it would be a lot more common than it was, but I only came across a couple dozen between my memory and my research.
Check out the article and let me know if there are any great ones that I missed!
And let me know what you think about the one I chose as number 1 - Detective Comics #509:

Nice job on the blog spot. I did like it.
Not too many actually - hard to go to the beach with full body armor and weapons (a la The Punisher or Deahstroke). Plus - what is there to steal? Sand? crabs? - even Gardner Fox would have a tough time making a story out of that!
There is always this one - not sure it counts as a beach

Okay - plenty of Archie and romance comics showed the beach - not a lot of superheroes - Don't get Mad... https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/mad/97/pmuqht ... about it!!!
Here is my personal favorite Super-Hero Beach comics cover https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/impossible-man-summer-vacation-spectacular-th/1/pksrht
Hey - it's the beach -time to relax and go on vacation - not to get all gory and bloody. Just my humble opinion.

Is it a good idea to purchase comics coming from overseas if they say they're manufactured in the US?? I don't want to get ripped off. Thanks in advance for the help.
Comics are world wide - I would not be concerned about their being American comics overseas. Could be military service people (or anyone) ordered from USA and had shipped / brought with them.
British versions of Marvel comics are fairly common in the USA - I have several with 9 Pence cover price. (Master of Kung Fu anyone?)
Agree with Quinn below (The Might Quinn?) . Ask politely for a picture via email. This is an assurance of product and condition. (not a guarantee - but better than text!). I ask for email because phone pictures are too small.
I try to put cover scans of my best comics here at CPG online.

I know this would be low priority but would be very helpful in verifying new data. I would like a way to filter out data I have submitted (since I cannot approve or deny) or data I have already approved or denied. This of course should be a checkbox or toggle.
Currently there are over 1000 items in the verify data section items in which I cannot do anything (either already validated or I submitted). When I see there is new items I have to go through each publisher and starting letter to find items I can verify. These filters would speed up the process.
Suggest you ask for help with top ten most important to you here on the forums at CPG. (Make your own list, )
I have no suggestion as to another way to keep track of these. - just send and forget to me.
