So if you too are trying to speculate you have to do the research as well. If something hits the key collector app or and other large site used for speculation you can bet that the books are going to start going up immediately online. With research and a bit of effort you can try and grab these books in LCS, Flea Markets, Antique Stores or even online if you're fast enough but there are a ton and I mean a ton of comics collectors these days so yes you have to do your own research and you have to be quick if you are trying to buy everything online. Or if you have been a collector for years hopefully you already have the book in your collection and you can sell it if that's what your into. With the amount of posts you make like this it seems as if you want to be a speculator collector and you're just not having any luck finding the books that are hot. Plus it seems as if about 80% of what is hot now will be cold a year later short of older books that should have been hot for years anyways. I get frustrated sometimes too when a book that I was already keeping an eye out for all of a sudden gets hot. Here lately when that happens I just wait it out and hope that it drops off the speculator's hot list and then go back to trying to find a nice copy for my collection. I speculate as well, I do it not to sell a book for more than I paid for it but I will get them in hope they go up in value and someone who needs it for their collection will have something I really want in my collection. I've never sold a book my entire life but I have been speculating on books for awhile.

7/20/2021 Topic: Dig Auction Wrong Time for closing Theoldcollector	I think somebody accidentally messed up over at Dig. Today's auctions closed at 7:00AM instead of PM I wonder how much that cost them in sells.

8/2/2021 Topic: The last book you'll ever read Theoldcollector	It has been added but just for FYI if you search " last book you'll " or " last book you'll ever read " it doesn't show up but it does if you search just "last book". I agree Francis needs to relax I don't think lmn22 realizes how many books and variants of those books come out every week. I too was impatient at first but then I realized everything involved with adding each and every book weekly. This one was also a Vault book and a new series as well so I imagine that takes even more time to add it to the database.
8/14/2021 Topic: Lower Graded Comic Values Theoldcollector	The price difference that range that far apart are for graded books, raw books tend to stay closer in price when the grades are close.

8/22/2021 Topic: Comic book preorders Theoldcollector	Just curious to see who everyone uses for their comic pre-orders. I have used a few different companies in the past. I was using one company regularly but here lately my comics have had some damage and the bags and boards sometimes look used. So I'm starting to look around for who is good with things like shipping costs, ease of use of the website when ordering, how they are shipped and so on. Anyone have any suggestions?
8/24/2021 Topic: Comic book preorders Theoldcollector	I'll check out DCBS thanks for the info BC and Ron. Ox I have an LCS here but the only one close to me got me a little upset by pulling books on release day and saying they sold out of them and then magically they had them a few days later for sell on their back wall for a higher dollar amount. They did this with all of the Stray Dog reprints as they came in. So I figured I'd take my business elsewhere.

Greed is someone ripping off their fan base and asking well over current market prices knowing that some of their fans will fall for it and think they are getting a good deal. Greed is when LCS are pulling books on the day of their release and telling their customers they sold out only to turn around and sell the books a week later for high prices. There is a difference between greed and the value of books going up.

2/18/2023 Topic: The state of comics and Comics Price Guide Theoldcollector	Updates are awesome! I hadn't been on in a while and realized I needed to at least login and renew my membership. This site has been the best site for trying to get my books organized. I've been slacking but it sounds and looks like you guys have not. Keep up the great work!
