When Warriors Clash! Just as Beetle prepares to shoot the wounded Spider-Man and Silver Sable, Sandman attacks, allowing them to regroup. Elsewhere, Jack O'Lantern plans something he thinks will capture the attention of the crime bosses he wants to have hire him.
At the Daily Bugle, Robbie Robertson discovers certain photos proving Flash is not the Hobgoblin. At Coney Island, Sandman takes a beating from the Sinister Syndicate. Spider-Man won't let Sandman face them alone and quits Sable's service so he can help him. A reluctant Sable follows. Meanwhile, Jack breaks into police headquarters and springs Flash Thompson from jail. Hearing of this, Rose and Hobgoblin plan to kill Flash, so the authorities will think the Hobgoblin is dead. At Jack's lair. Hobgoblin attacks, giving Flash the opportunity to escape. Jack stuns Hobgoblin and flees.
The Syndicate eventually runs from Spider-Man, Silver Sable, and Sandman. Spider-Man, concussed by a blow from Rhino, momentarily collapses. Impressed by his abilities, Sable hires Sandman in Spider-Man's place. Dejected, Spider-Man attempts to swing home, but passes out again on a nearby rooftop. Elsewhere, Flash hits the streets in disguise, not knowing where to go or to whom to turn.
