Jonathan tags along with Superman as he answers a distress call from the cost guard, the find themselves battling a monster. Superman takes the opportunity to have Jon embrace his powers, Superman and Jon share a teachable moment regarding power and responsibility just before they head home.
Back in the Kent farmstead Jon finds someone to share his secret with but suffers an accident that makes Superman take him to the fortress of solitude where a new threat arises.
