 Zero Hour Tie-In

 A Whole New World
33 years ago, Jor-El and Lara put their only son, Kal-El, in a small spacecraft as their planet crumbles around them. They launch the spacecraft towards Earth, as Jor-El describes how its Yellow Sun will turn their sun into a supreme being. They ponder if he will rule the planet, as Krypton explodes!

As Clark Kent's spacecraft crashes into a small field in Smallville, one couple is about to have a baby along the side of the road. Jonathan and Martha Kent see the crashed spacecraft and drive out towards it. Finding the baby, they think the craft was sent into orbit by Earth scientists. They decide to care for the baby as their own and name him Clark.

After the events of Zero Hour Superman has returned to Metropolis. He stops some gang members using Toastmasters from shooting each other and endangering others, before flying off to meet Lois. He tells her how Earth's mightiest heroes stopped a villain from manipulating time and destroying the universe. As a side effect time has unfolded differently, and with the help of all the other heroes, Metropolis has been restored!

At the Daily Planet Clark finds a photograph about his childhood from Kenny Braverman. His face is cut out of the photo. As Clark and Lois leave the Daily Planet a piece of brickwork almost crushes them, but Clark is able to move them out of the way in time. Using his telescopic vision he doesn't see anything suspicious. But a masked figure nearby declares that Clark's luck will run out.

Arriving at their apartment Clark finds another photograph in his mail. This one of the time he was in a school play and got the main role because Kenny took sick. While in the elevator, it begins to collapse, but Clark uses his strength to stop its descent and keep himself and Lois out of danger. Outside, the masked figure is upset that his plans keep failing.

An orphanage in Hob's Bay is torched by an unknown assailant. Superman and Lois arrive on the scene. Superman rescues some children, while Lois interviews some fireman. Ron Troupe arrives, and the masked figure, watching from a nearby rooftop, mistakenly believes he is Clark. He sets off some more explosives blowing up the remains of the orphanage. Superman uses his cape to protect both Lois and Ron from the blast. The masked figure is enraged that Superman has saved Clark again!

The next day at the Daily Planet, the reporters are writing up their stories on the orphanage fire, while Clark finds another photograph. This one of when he was at a scout camp with Kenny Braverman. While Kenny was trying to cook, his frying pan caught fire. Clark had to put out the fire using sand. Kenny's father was angry and blamed the whole incident on Kenny. Lois wonders if these photographs are linked to the numerous attempts on Clark's life.
