The Plastic Perils were created by Dr. Irving Bravo, using the Responsometer created by Dr. Will Magnus. The Metal Men had a difficult time defeating the plastic perils with Bravo taunting them that plastic was the future. They were eventually defeated when Gold, the leader of the Metal Men, studied the properties of plastic and learned of their low melting point. The Metal Men then used this knowledge to pour molten metal on the Plastic Perils, which destroyed them and captured Bravo.
