The bloody French and Indian War was over. Men from two rival nations, France and England, had fought and died to possess the new continent, America. The British had won, but the French flag still floated over several of their western outposts. It remained for the British to take possession of these forts. Their way lay through trackless forests full of hostile Indian tribes.
