NYX 3: misprint or damaged?
henvhee
|
i have a issue of nyx 3 and on the cover, at two spots the paper is wrinkeled (it looks as if a drop of water or rain fell on it and then dried again)........ i always considered it to be water damage, but last week i saw a comic with the same flaw, but in that case it was described as being a misprint (meaning the flaw was already in the paper before the printing)
so what is it?

i don`t understand why everbody is writing that Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) first appeared as Captain Marvel in Avenging spider-man 9 and why this is such a valuable comic..........??? because carol danvers first appeared as captain marvel in the House of m Comics series, not in avenging spider-man.......so why isn`t House of m #1 the valuable comic? |

Because "House of M" was just an alternate reality made by the Scarlet Witch, so it wasn't "real"
even if it`s a alternate reality, it still was the first appearance of Carol danvers als Captain Marvel........... the new captain marvel movie also isn`t in the same universe as the marvel comics, so why would it matter?????
and you can also dispute if it is a alternate reality..........because the event happened in real time in the marvel comics universe ..........it had great effect in being the cause of the x-men decimation
carol danvers is one of the caracters that remember the House of m event as beeing real, because of it she decided to become active als Ms Marvel again...... so if its real for her, why not for the marvel comics universe???.................you could even argue that the "House of m" event gave her the idea to take up the Captain marvel name later on in the avenging spider-man...... |

But it all occurred on Earth-58163 not Earth- 616, basically another "What If?" story, another "Bobby Ewing's Death" kinda deal (wow, I'm old) ...……………….Hey, I'm just tellin' you why "the people have spoken" on the book...…………… not that I always agree with "the people"
like i said, the "house of m" event is NOT a "what if" story, it happened in the EARTH 616 universe, otherwise it wouldn`t have had the effects on the earth 616 universe that it had like decimation, carol danvers rising as MS marvel again, wolverine having his memories restored, hawkeye being resurected, and i can go on....... |

X-MEN/ALPHA FLIGHT 1998
the info "Reprint of 1985 version" is incorrect, this is not a reprint but a different story....
but
X-MEN/ALPHA FLIGHT: THE GIFT also from 1998
is a reprint of the two part series X-MEN AND ALPHA FLIGHT of 1985 edited by henvhee on 3/15/2020 |

Marvel Holiday Special

what a mess...........
Marvel Holiday Special #1 is correct
but after that first one that is numbered the rest is not, so 2-5 should be listed the same way as the rest starting with 2004
so #2 should be "1993" (published in 1992 but dated on the cover with 1993)
the picture #3 is the same as 2 so it should be removed, the dating Christmas 1993 would mean is should be the issue listed as #4A #4A is listed as beeing a variant of #4, but this is wrong, this issue should be listed as "1994" (a or I) (published in 1993 but dated on the cover with 1994) #4 should be listed as 1994 (b or II), published in 1994 and if marvel would have followed the same logic they used before it should have been dated 1995 on the cover, but they didn`t, so it is also dated with 1994, so you might also name it "1995" to make is less confusing
#5 should be listed as 1996 |

there are three different comics listed here under the same name
the #1B Wizard of the Coast edition is listed as being a variant, but it`s not, it is a different edition with an original story it`s listed al "x-men the movie special edition" in the indica
issue #1C X-Men Movie Special Prequel Edition from Toys R is also listed as a variant, it`s named "X-Men Movie Special Premiere Prequel Edition" in the indica but in fact it`s a variant of X-MEN: THE MOVIE - WOLVERINE
issue #1D is a variant of #1 and #1A
but it`s listed as "x-men movie special edition" in the indica (without the "the") edited by henvhee on 3/17/2020 |

We use indicia to determine where a book goes so based on what you've said.
The three issues you mention are all special editions of the X-men: Movie title https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/x-men-the-movie/ukvp
I've moved them to the "specials" tab under that title.
Ron
now there are still three different comics listed here under the same name, but now under "special"
like i said #1C, is a variant of X-MEN: THE MOVIE - WOLVERINE edited by henvhee on 3/22/2020 |

#1K
Ron Lim 1 in 25 Retailer Incentive Variant vallued at $75
is a nonexistent comic,
the issue pictured is #1E from HOWARD THE DUCK 2016 | Volume 3 vallued at $30
why do i also ad the vallues?,
because i`m just wondering how it`s possible that there is a value given for a mistaken book that doesn`t exist? and its even higher then for the book that does exist! |
