I have a couple of paperback books. One is compilation and the other is an actual story. Would they be listed here anywhere?

They are:

1) The Fantastic Four in the House of Horrors, Whitman Big Little Books (1968)
2) Doctor Strange, Marvel compilation of the first 18 appearances of Dr. Strange (1978)

Here are some images of the book. The stories are actually a bit hard to read because they are so shrunken down to fit the small book.

(Not sure why it turned them sideways and put hyperlinks next to them.)

Found it by looking at Pocket Books under the Publisher search, but if you just search Doctor Strange using 'All Types', it comes up a ways down the results too. Also comes up if you choose the 'comicback' choice, but few people would know to use that.

Thanks for the pointers. I've been holding that thing since the '80s. About time I started cataloging stuff.

I have a couple of these from when I was a kid, but I can't find them on this site. Are they here? They are large, They are 10x13", 50-page books.

This is what the cover looks like:

What do you mean by 'indicia'? Is that the paragraph of 'legal' information at the beginning of a comic? It's only referred to in this book as 'A Marvel Super Special,' though I see your reference has it listed under Marvel Comics Super Special. I was searching only by the text that is specified in the trademark/copyright information, though this magazine didn't come up when I did so.

Can't Locate Whitman Comic

It's probably just me, but I can't find this Whitman version of Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #3 from 1975. Can anyone confirm whether it is or is not on the site?

Absolutely sure. Here's the text from the first page:

Walt Disney's COMICS and STORIES, Vol. 36, No. 3, December, 1975.

Unless that's a misprint. However, the link to eBay also has it listed as #3.

Does seem a bit strange to be coincidence, though.

I'm adding in notes for several of those issues now.

I see. I will go ahead and record it as that issue then. Thanks for the quick explanation.

I can't find this 200-page compilation published by DC Comics. It is from 2000 and is a reprint of JLA issues 34-41. Is it on this site?

Thanks for helping me find that. Next time I'm lost I'll make sure to post in the right forum. I'm still not sure how find something like that book in the general search. To me, they're all just 'comics'. What should I have used to search in the title? I definitely would never have considered putting in 6 as an issue number since that doesn't appear on the book (that I can see).

I have a version of this, but it doesn't have the UPC code on the front. It has an ISBN barcode on the back with a price of $14.95 U.S. What I have didn't come up when I searched on the title. Is it possible this version isn't in the database?

Anyone? Is there any useful tool here for easily filtering and reviewing your collection? How about the ability to export the database for our collection?

Ugh. It sounds like I'm just paying to catalogue and value my comics without really being able to do much with that information.

Obviously we can't satisfy every want for every collector but what we provide is a great value to the comic book market.
You can see values for 1.2 million books
You can research your favorite artists or creator
You can see 400 to 500 new books added each week
You can look at theme or find something new to collect
You can catalog your collection
You can sort them by virtual boxes
You can sell books with no fees. (premium only)

You can do all this and more for about $1/week
How much do new comics cost? Bags? Boards? Grading? We are easily the best value in comics.
Ron

Perhaps, but what good is all of that if I can't easily see what my valuable items are? If there's a way to do that, I haven't found it yet. I look at that linked video, but I can't imagine that what I'm looking for is something that no one else has wanted to do before.

Thanks! That is actually the exact page that I would have used if I had a sortable database. My goal is to find my most valuable items, so that I can segregate them.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between these two items, other than that seems is from 1951 and seems to have a brighter cover. The date inside the cover of my issue says November 1965 by Gilberton Company and seems to have the coloring of the 2nd item. I'm thinking that's the one I should add to my collection, but I'm not sure.

This doesn't seem to have an HRN number anywhere. The inside cover text that gives the issue, publisher, and copyright doesn't have one, and the rest of that page is just an advertisement to order other issues. The first story page has no footer at all. The back cover, inside and out, are both two more full page ads for Gilberton issues. I guess one inside the front cover wasn't enough.

Wait, are you saying that whatever story is the last listed on the back cover is the HRN number? If that's the case, the back page ad has '167. Faust' as the final title that can be ordered. Is that what you mean?
