Ok, this is like like the dream come true for many of you. In the process of 'downsizing', I have found a full box of over 120 1960 classic comics. I am more of a coin guy and having a hard time determining grades for some of these comics. So far I have had CGC officially certify Green Lantern #1 (CGC 5.0) and Green Lantern #2 (CGC 6.0). In sorting thru the comics I also have a Tales to Astonish #13 (I challenged GROOT), which to me looks better than the Green Lantern #2. Beyond Groot, most of the comics are mid-range (Worlds Finest comics #108). To me, most of these look at least at VG/Fine status, some VF, some VG, some G. I am looking for advice on how best to sell off these comic. Currently I have the two Green Lantern comics on eBay, and am looking at CGCing the Groot comic. Suggestions! FYI I am not yet a paid member of this site or CGC, and would take any suggestions!

Thanks. I fixed the 'Golden' to 'Green'. Don't know how I mistyped that! By not being a member I meant not being a paid member. What I am really looking for is advice on how I can reasonably accurately grade comics that I don't necessarily want to submit to CGC. I want to be able to give a reasonable estimate to someone when I sell these. Any suggestions?

Great pointers! I hadn't really thought of scanning the comics, that is a much better solution than pics. Thanks for helping a newbie!

There's many other sites with Overstreet's grading definitions too (shorter text versions), a google search will show you.
You can post a good scan in the Grading forum here and let others give their opinion, but it's not super accurate to grade from scans cuz of all the defects scans won't show. https://comicspriceguide.com/forum/forum12-comic-grading-tips-and-tricks.aspx

SCANS are better than camera pics, but if a camera is all you have, that'll have to do. Always note stuff that's hard to see, like light stains, finger/thumb kinks, stress wrinkles on white covers, spine kinks that don't break color but the ''divot'' is there, tears that might blend in well, spine splits, etc.
