10/7/2021 Topic: Squid Game Ronbatman Administrator	Finished the series last night! The first episode is setting the groundwork for the craziness to follow. I really enjoyed it, even with more violence than I'm accustomed to in shows. There are so many intense moments that you have to remind yourself to breathe. There are surprises along the way and different motivations come to the surface. Great show! Keep watching. Ron

10/11/2021 Topic: Question about dishonesty in the market Ronbatman Administrator	Obviously, we look at prices all day, every day. We see some sales that appear to be dishonest on eBay. (I'm being nice) There might be 20 finished auctions for a book and 1 is 30-50% higher than the others in the same condition. We've seen this happen on the same day before. We've seen raw books go for $100 or $200 more than a graded issue in the same condition. Does this kind of information interest you? I'm not sure how we could display or get this information to you but we are thinking about how to be transparent. Somehow tell you that we evaluated the data and statistically this sale doesn't make sense. If a price guide used all automated data, some unscrupulous sellers could manipulate the market upward. Shill bidding on each other's books until they get the profit margin they want. Then every week report that it's a new high price because it's so hot. That news in turn, drives the price higher. Think about this, stocks of great companies with huge profit margins rise and fall so why are comics continuing to skyrocket month after month with no decline? edited by ronbatman on 10/11/2021

I’d suggest putting them in order, entering them all as 9.4 raw. Then go back through the more expensive ones and try to figure a more exact value. Knowledge is power Ron

10/25/2021 Topic: Publicly Acknowledging Someone for Greatness Ronbatman Administrator	For the last 12 YEARS Jesse, Ohs69grad, has been adding new comics to the database. Because of personal reasons, he will be stepping down from that task on November 3rd. I would like to publicly thank him for all the tireless work he's done on Comics Price Guide. Literally every week for 12 years he's added hundreds and hundreds of comics, variants, and trades to this site. On the new cover scans page, his name is first with 275,159 scans added. https://comicspriceguide.com/new-scans No one else is even close to him. All first appearances are labeled like this 1st Appearance of Morbius the Living Vampire (Michael Morbius) In the details tab for a specific issue like Amazing Spiderman 101 you will see a character area. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/amazing-spider-man-the/101/ykpyk If you click on that character's name, like Morbius, all their appearance will come up. (if they are entered) https://comicspriceguide.com/characters/morbius-michael-morbius/siu It will show the 1st, 2nd, 3rd appearances, any cameos, and then general appearances. Currently, there are 26 titles with at least one Morbius appearance. This can be very useful information to have. Ron

11/3/2021 Topic: Hiring Ronbatman Administrator	In the last 3 years, we've experienced amazing growth, so we need to hire someone again. This is an in-person job located at our offices in Indianapolis. We are located in the historic Stutz building which has a great artistic vibe. We need someone who is friendly and detail-oriented for this position. They will be handling all customer service inquiries via email, phone, and in-person. If a customer has an issue we want them to be happy. If a newbie asks a question that isn't well-thought-out, we want the answer to be friendly and kind. Other duties will include but are not limited to variant approvals, creator approvals, story approvals, UPC additions, social media, general office tasks, and value changes. Value changes will be much later in the process since that requires a lot of experience and training. We offer a flexible schedule. You can arrive and leave anytime between 8 am and 5 pm. If your child has a program at school, we want you to go. We try to create an environment that is family-friendly and believe that everyone needs a good work/life balance. If you're running a few minutes late, you will not be in trouble with us. As long as you get your hours in and are working hard while here, we are good. Some of the perks - We offer free snacks and drinks. We routinely get free comics. Our office is filled with comics and statues. We talk about comics, movies, and shows every day and consider it part of the job. We will occasionally get free lunches or dinners. You will report directly to me.
