There have also been newly released books like the 2nd printing of Future State Nightwing #1 that has been selling for double cover price. If a few people paid those prices, sellers seem to think everyone will. I almost did until I was able to buy a couple in stores at cover price.
See it's not just new books books from 1991-1992 etc. that they made a million of that go for $2-3 people are asking $2-3 or MORE for those and I have to wonder why? Alot of people see books like that for less but alot sell for full which always baffles me because nobody gets full price for EVERYTHING... |

I mean, they can post for whatever they want, no? It's their property and that's what they value it at. If you don't want it at that price you can jus not buy it. I fail to see what the issue is?
It's not but going by things at a whole MOST people (That I deal with) stores, internet etc. tend to be a little more flexible about pricing....Why can't people just admit that this happens when it's full price.... |

Is there something we are missing???
It seems that "Hot" book or books to "Watch" never show up until these have gone up already?
And reason why? It seems like some people know ahead of time and do not let anyone else know
In the "old" days people gave a "heads up" not anymore I take it.... |

This book took FOREVER to go up what is wrong with people???
He was the major villain in Civil War and the main antagonist in Falcon & Winter Soldier
What is going on with comic book people know adays??? $50 for a Avengers Book with First Photon but nothing until now with First Zemo?????
I really don't get how people gauge books because most time they are WRONG and the books that SHOULD go up because that character is in a tv show and or movie (multiple times) and nothing

You know, I bet most people don't really remember there even was a villain in civil war. The civil war between Tony & Steve was over loyalty to the Winter Soldier and acceptance/denial of government guidance (oversight) over superheroes, which turned out to be Hydra oversight of superheroes.
Zemo wasn't a bad villain, but he was the third villain in the movie.
Still he was in the movie....He's THE big bad in the next Disney + show and Zemo has being in Marvel in almost ANY story since the 1960's
More important than most of the speculation books... |

OK I know I mention alot of things that are wrong on here but one things STILL is happening and I'd like to know why
An offer is made on the book there is only ONE offer but seller says the book is "Sold" recently but it still shows up in Inventory and I was the only person that made an offer on the book so how does that keep happening? Are we having off site sales on other sites? Does the seller have multiple copies or only one??
This is so frustrating because of all the demand for certain books alot of people are falling into that trap of "All Comics are worth big money" which isn't the case or people change the pricing on their books in email's etc. but NOT on the actual website.
And what about trying to get a hold of a seller's they accept offers and vanish or take forever to ship out invoices? Or my favorite if they don't here from you in like 2-3 days they cancel the transaction without any communication...
I love how people are playing games instead of selling their books they list them honor the deal and sell them...simple edited by Taskmaster on 3/27/2021 edited by Taskmaster on 3/27/2021 |

CPG members sell thousands of books. Taskmaster knows this because he personally has bought hundreds from CPG. I've said repeatedly that if you let me know of a seller who is unresponsive I will talk to them. Worst case I will delete their listings. (I did this last week to someone's account)
We are trying to build this part of the site and honestly it's going fantastic. We have 15% growth over the last 2 years and 30% growth the year before. Yes, I get it there are a few bad sellers (and buyers) but the vast majority are honest people saving money selling here instead of the Bay. R
Yes but the ONE thing I don't like it that they are selling the same book on different platforms they sell it then either don't respond or give you an excuse like it's been "sold" when on this site you had the only offer...It's kinda a crappy way of doing things
Or when a seller keeps rejecting your offers even though it's the offer that they state on the listing...I thought the whole idea was if you have stuff listed at a set price then a person send an offer at that price and you accept it but one person does not...I can e-mail you the name because that person does it ALOT lately.... edited by Taskmaster on 3/28/2021 |

Taskmaster, we've had this discussion before so I won't go into it again.
I've been forwarded messages that you sent to sellers a few times and some were rude or condescending. If you sent me a message like that, I would reject everything you made an offer on too. No one likes to be treated like that.
I'm trying to help you see this from someone else's point of view. If you were more understanding with sellers, more of them would want to sell to you. You buy a lot of comics so they should want you as a customer. If they sold it somewhere else, fine. It's no big deal. It's not worth calling them an _____ or a _______. You burn the bridge that you might want to cross in the future. It's not that deep if they sold a comic somewhere else. Treat sellers with kindness regardless.
Ron
Once again your only seeing ONE side but I digress....I think 90% success rate compared to the 10% who don't communicate and or are not getting paid fast enough or will turn someone over because that person doesn't LIVE on the internet...
And Treat Buyers with respect too the door swings both ways...I could care less about the 10% who's ass I don't kiss and would rather deal with the 90% who are actually human beings who want to sell their books and communicate...gee an interesting concept...
And I should have sent you some of the things that got sent to me but I'm not a little kid I'm an adult and treat it like that... edited by Taskmaster on 3/29/2021 |

I see can see it both ways. Captain America 168 was the first appearance of the character. Captain America 275/276 was the first time the character adopted this persona / wore the purple (pink?) mask. It gets a little confusing because Baron Zemo is his name, but it's also the name of a persona (like Captain America) because of the costume.
I don't know. I think in this case, I personally care more about when the character becomes the character I'm familiar with than when he showed up as something else.
See that's the point I was trying to make...Alot of times a character has many identity's so that would be a different look etc. edited by Taskmaster on 4/4/2021 |

That's not all that surprising. Just cause there are Silver and Bronze keys that are expensive doesn't mean there aren't low print run, in-demand, coppers and moderns that are worth thousands. There's a whole lot of more current comics out there that people are paying ridiculous prices for. From New Star Wars Series, to stuff like Miles' and Spider-Gwen's first appearance, even to stuff like Punchline's first appearance, though that hasn't hit the thousands yet.
That's the point who says all the Dark Horse Star Wars comics are short printed and rare?? Dishonest people and the sheep that follow them....unreal |

Also this came out in 04/01 there are only a total of 33 - 9.8's of this actual comic. So if a Star Wars fan really wants this book at a 9.8 they are going to pay a high price for it. If people have a ton of raw high grade copies of it just sitting around you would think they would be flooding the market with it right now seeing how the average price for this at a 9.8 is $1,350.
And then it will drop like it always does....Why do people keep thinking it's "rare" when more copies exist out there and they haven't been graded yet and it's from 2001 you really mean to think is this book was like the Walking Dead #1 that people wouldn't have found out this like maybe 20 years ago not six months ago because of "Speculation" look at the Dark Horse SW books you really mean to tell me that ALL of those books command this crazy ass premium prices? NO! |
