As #11 on the list, having graded and entered every single book I own into 2 databases, I think there should be a reward for taking the time to do so. Due to books in my collection, I'm pretty sure I'd be #2 if all my comics were listed as 9.4. Yes, this is for fun, but it takes a lot of time grading each book of a collection, especially if you start off with about 12,000 like I did. Give the lazy members their own list if they don't want to grade their books.
Most of DazedGTOJudge's collection is even graded 9.8 to 9.4 edited by rixmaxx on 5/14/2018 |

I use both CPG and ComicBase, both have their pluses and minuses. ComicBase will actually help a newbie like yourself grade your books. For keeping up with the "comic world" and talking to other collectors, CPG is your best bet. For the most up to date comic values, you'll have to check out Ebay. If you have to pick only one for cataloging, I'd go with CPG and learn how to grade. |

Again I say "That one was sort of a joke. …………..(for obvious reasons)………(two to be exact) " (did you look at the cover?) and you're saying the Sejic one might be impressive but it wouldn't make your list? Dragon Guard neither?...…. Awwww come on ...……………I've never got a prize before...….. |

Spider-Girl 1/2 Wizard Hologram - Question

kds_comics wrote:
I have been collecting for a long and this one has me confused.
I have Spider-Girl 1/2 with the Wizard certificate. - okay so far. Looking at the book inside the original bag - It has a hologram on lower right side of the cover that says "WIZARD" I take the comics out of the bag - the hologram is on the bag, not on the comic. What the? Is this the copy with the hologram or was there a copy where the hologram was printed on the comic itself? Thanks
KDS
I have a couple of those and I have seen quite a few more, I have never seen "wizard" printed directly on the book, only on the bag. I was a diligent Wizard #1/2 collector, I sent in every chance I got. |

Thanks for clearing this up - I am going to update my CPG Spider-Girl 1/2 picture with the bag and cert here https://comicspriceguide.com/sales/kdscomics/spider-girl/0.5A/phyyhtx
Does this work for everyone? I really like the new wrap-around cover pictures - why not cover with hologram bag and cert? Thanks What do you think?
KDS This site is the only one that I know of that makes the "Hologram" distinction. The hologram on the bag came on every #1/2 book you sent for (I have a pile of around 50 of them) Like I said, I've never seen a book with the "wizard" printed directly on the book itself. I could be wrong ( I doubt it ) but I think the two listings are the same, one with the bag and one without. That would be wrong, having the bag does not make it worth $10 more. The bags are inter-changeable. I wish the picture showing the "hologram" was less cropped so you could tell if it was in a bag or not. |

Agree on the Carnage Mind Bomb comics - would like to know why. Also wish I would have put away a couple hundred twenty years ago - naeh, that comic was a "throw away - give it away" at the time.
Also Batman #871 - first Scott Snyder - blowing up on eBay and here at CPG - mini-BOMB!!! I fail to why - Snyder did lots of comics - is this now a movie script basis or something??
There was an interview by Donny Cates, he was being asked about the Web Of Venom one shot he is releasing soon, he said the Carnage Mind Bomb was the scariest book he read as a kid and told people to go out and pick up the book. So people think there is going to be a link between the two. ………..Venom is going to have wings in the new volume so, Rune vs. Venom is the first appearance of the wings, gotta love speculators. ( I got probably have a dozen I didn't give away they looked cool and its a pretty good story ) |

Technically you're right but it only has maybe 5 cover designs with a different name in the box. It doesn't feel like that should be #1.
I know, you're right but you had to input them all separately, right? (bummer) That does make them variants (with 6 different cover designs ) |
