if you're looking to buy one, this is not the right board. this is for 'locating' comics IN the database. you want the Wanted board: https://comicspriceguide.com/forum/forum20-want-list.aspx .

If you search for it through the site, it comes up correctly...

https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/captain-america/208A/phtyhyx

The old link to the wrong image must be still working.

208A is not part of the problem. if you search on Captain America 208, there's 3 results, two of which--the first 208, and 208B, the 2 I linked to-- appear to be the same whitman version. 208B has a poor pic, so hard to zoom and see the UPC box better, but it appears to be the same UPC too, but can't be 100% sure.

all they have to do is rename the 1st direct cover one to newsstand, they already have the pic. this is the incorrect pic one: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/new-teen-titans/22/uovyn

always helpful to post a link to the issue as there's many titles with multiple reboots. so calling Gilgandra or Casper...

If you're asking about the bagged Superman #75, it's listed here: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/superman/75/vnptn
but check e*** and other sources too, and at the bottom of the CPG listing is multiple people with it for sale at all kinds of prices, and I have to assume some are not the bagged version due to the price, but may just be lumped in with all the Superman 75s for sale.

I'd say what you did is fine. CPG does list Mad but I didn't bother to check if any are noted for Chuck Norris apps. or anyone else for that matter, but probably not. Odd that DHOKF would bother to put a painting of him on the outside and inside cover, do an interview, but don't do a comic story of him.

from what I found, it was done in March 2009, and every copy of the 3 or so versions I could find is signed by Liefeld, and CPG doesn't list 99% of signed comics, which is probably why it isn't here.
mycomicshop says "Emerald City Comic Con Variant (new Rob Liefeld gun toting Obama cover nested over the Barack Obama 2nd printing cover)". It isn't under the 8B second printing here, but again probably because it's signed.

I see you had this prob last fall, and no one from CPG came along to explain. doing a google search on that phrase gets a ton of answers all above my limited code knowledge. can you attach the image to a post and maybe someone else can add it for you, or maybe see what the problem is? sometimes it's the file name having a weird character or spaces.

I got a pic of it off comics.org and submitted it with no problem. what are you naming the file? if you have '1/2' in it, it may not work, as my system warns me that no slashes are allowed in the file name.

comics.org shows 8 covers, CPG has 4, so if you want to go copy the ones CPG doesn't have, and submit them using the missing variants button, have at it. https://www.comics.org/issue/1702584/cover/4/

also, note to admin-- CPG has the title misspelled so I couldn't find it till I searched just Avengelyne. Seraphicide is misspelled as Seraphacide, so the second A is wrong. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/avengelyne-seraphacide/0.5/plpynx

Looking for Wolverine #102.5

it's under the 1996 #102C listing: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/wolverine/102C/pkpviu

not a great pic, and somehow it's a signed version, which CPG doesn't usually list, so attached a better pic of an unsigned version for them to use.

not sure why they can't number it for the search engine as 102.5, since other wizard #1/2s use 0.5 for the issue number, but they should at least put 102.5 in the subnote info.

If you won't attach an image here so I can check some things out, then email Ronbatman at ron [@] comicspriceguide.com and send him the image and maybe he can tell you if it's the problem, or there's some system glitch.

Oh, this is really sad. Since we can organize by different boxes, I don't think it makes sense to lack the feature of selling a "box" at a time.
Now regretting getting the subscription to Silver.

What makes this really bad is that there is not a feature (that I can find) where I can publicly share the contents of one of my boxes. IF I were able to do that, then it would be a good workaround and I could list on Ebay and Craigslist with a link to the public "box".

Any workaround for these problems that anyone can recommend?
edited by austenjt on 2/5/2022

but it's against both e*** and c-list rules to link to outside selling sites. plus people would have join CPG to see your box. on both platforms you have room to list all the comics in a box, so other than the time it takes to copy/paste or type that, you don't need to link to your cpg box from those sites. if people report you on e*** you'll get suspended, if enough flag you on c-list you'll get the ad deleted or eventually your account cancelled if you keep doing it. but I just saw your other post about the classifieds ad not taking your e*** link, so looked at that e*** listing, and you have all the John Carters shown, so why would you need to link to your CPG box?

you only appear to have a few boxes here, so not that much to list, unless you have lots more you haven't added yet.

and question to an admin, since I don't have boxes--why does it say '70 TITLES' under austenjt's Marvel for example, when he only has two titles, but 70 ISSUES? Seems misleading. Issues aren't titles.

I have heard that sometimes comic shops will help you manage your comic grading by sending them off for you? is this true?

if you have a local shop that's an authorized CGC dealer, they can submit and ship your comics to CGC, and probably give you help with approx grades and what's worth sending in. Only the shop will be able to track the progress of the order tho. You can see their list of dealers by doing a search for your state on this page: https://www.cgccomics.com/services/dealerlisting.aspx
it may not be up to date either, so you can google shops in your area with "cgc member (or authorized) dealer in " and see if any others come up. If nothing is close, you can also ship your comics to a CGC member dealer that is ok with that, and let them handle things, but that costs you more shipping since you'll have to pay the shop for shipping to and from CGC and then back to you, and slabs weigh a lot, so it adds up. Plus there's more handing involved, more people inspecting/packing etc, so more of a chance for damage. You can join CGC for $25 and up and submit stuff yourself, and run them by a local shop first for grade opinions if you need.

How about that. I finally get a book posted and it shows up with a watermark. I scanned my cover and my cover has no watermark, so I do not know how that happened. Thanks for having my back--LISA

well that's weird. I thought I remembered you said you had a scanner, so wondered why there's a watermark, but figured maybe there was some scanning prob and you got a pic from elsewhere. not sure how that watermark name can appear like that. I've scanned lots of comics and never had a ghost image show up. I thought maybe if the scanner was new it might have a protective film over the glass with that name on it, but you'd see that before you scanned. is it possible you have a setting for scans that automatically adds a watermark of your choosing that accidentally got turned on? usually I think those are in a pic editing program that adds watermarks when you do the editing IF you want to, not the scanning, so maybe something got clicked unintentionally if you did any size or other editing after saving the scan. guess you can try another scan of some darker cover and see it it gets that watermark too, so you can read the whole name, maybe that will help figure it out.

sounds like the site was the culprit, but they shouldn't be adding watermarks without warnings or choice, so kinda odd if they did that. most scanning programs will let you size the initial scan to something more manageable than the standard huge size, so maybe you all can get that figured out. to reduce the file size alone, after reducing the physical size/dimensions, I use this .jpg/png reduction site: https://tinypng.com/

it's totally free, don't even have to sign up or give them an email, nothing to download, and it's fast. you click the upload button, find your pic file on your computer and 'open' it and it will upload it, and the site will run it thru their compression program, and reduce stuff 40-50% file size with no clarity loss. then you click 'download' on their finished list, and save it back to your computer. You can do multiples at a time too. There's multiple online fuller image editing sites that are free, so keep looking around. Don't know which to recommend as I have my own windows photo editing program, so haven't needed to use any of the online ones except for tinypng.com.
