That's not Perpetua, that cover shows Kull. It looks like there is a lot of confusion online but it's definitely Kull. R |

Happy Thanksgiving

This year will probably look different than your usual Thanksgiving but you're here and that's something. In my immediate family, we have a tradition of everyone around the table saying what we are thankful for. I'll start.
I'm thankful for my job at Comics Price Guide, I just passed my 3 year anniversary. It's a job that most comic book people would brag about. I'm thankful that my family and extended family hasn't been sick. I'm thankful for my health. A few years ago I changed my bad habits and it's dramatically changed the way I feel. I'm thankful for my friends and the technology that keeps us connected.
On a smaller scale I'm thankful for the change in this forum. When I first started it was rough, people were mad or upset every day. Now it's much more enjoyable. So thank you all for helping to change the feel of this place.

Our titles should match the indicia. If they don't let me know which ones need to be changed and I'll change them.

Comic Book Pressing and Cleaning
RonbatmanAdministrator
|
Currently, we are doing a soft launch for our pressing business. This is ideal for someone who wants to improve their collection but not necessarily have the book graded. (Your choice) Here is some important information to know.
1. We charge $10 per book that needs to be pressed. 2. We charge $5 to return ship your books, up to 5 books. $10 for 6 books or more. 3. We do not accept books worth over $500, currently. 4. We do not accept brittle books. They are not good candidates for pressing. 5. The client assumes all risk of loss or damage until we receive and inspect the books. 6. Cleaning during the soft launch is free with a pressing purchase.
Our procedure We will take pictures of each book prior to any work. If a book isn't a good candidate we will tell you then and you will not be charged for that book. Then we will clean the book. Because we don't know what is embedded in your comic we cannot guarantee that it will be removed. For example, water stains and ink cannot be removed. There are other things as well that cannot be removed. Next, we will press the book for a minimum of 4 hours. If we believe a second pressing will help the book, we will do so at no additional charge. After pressing we will take another set of pictures and then package the books for shipping.
We can send you before and after pictures of some books we've pressed, if you would like to see our work. Ideal candidates have folds and creases that don't break color. Spine rolls can be dramatically improved. Comics that look dirty can see fantastic improvements as well. Ron

They cannot be changed.
In your settings, you can change the page that your account sees first. So the options are details, values, variants, and my issues. That might save a click or two. Ron |

Old Comics Changing
RonbatmanAdministrator

Taskmaster, to answer your original question. There are almost 1200 price changes for raw books in the last 30 days. That is an impressive number from my perspective. Some of those books are modern, bronze, and silver. I will admit that we have someone focused on Canadian whites and Four Color books right now. Some of those books are obscure but need attention too. As always, you can suggest a value change for any book in the database. I've recently worked on the suggested value list and the variant submission list. Ron |

If you have an account with CGC or CBCS we would recommend filling out their form in advance and we can ship it with the books. |

CPG Criteria for adding Kickstarter comics?
RonbatmanAdministrator
|
Our criteria for adding a book to the database is this. 1. Is it at least 50% comic book story? 2. Is it a physical book? digital books don't make it in.
We don't base addition to the site on the size of the run or the publisher. We do focus more on larger publishers and larger runs to satisfy more customers. So a small press/small run book might take longer to be added. Ron |

If you don't want to do the online or eBay thing that means selling to a private collector or Local comic shop.
I looked up your account and you have a gold account. If you want to sell books you can do it right here by clicking the blue button that says "sell". If a book is entered into our system you can sell it here with no fees. Just a thought. Ron |

There is a small following of Mark Jeweler collectors and a premium. For the most part, we haven't entered them into CPG because of the newsstand vs. direct focus. Plus all the UPC codes that focus includes. Ron |

Couple Things

First of all, we've changed the "Recent Values Page". Since we've had over 1000 price changes per month for the raw books it was difficult to sort through books. To help with that we've added some sorting features to that page.
Now you can look through all publishers by letter. The top item is the newest update for that letter. So you might see Amazing Spiderman 33 and then Action Comics 544 below that because the Spider-man issue was changed more recently.
You can also search by publisher You can search by comic type like annual or giant size.
We aren't fully finished with that page yet so there could be other features/sorting available soon.
Secondly, we've topped 47,000 UPC codes in our system. Thank you to everyone who has continued to add those in. Remember that you can type a UPC code into the search bar and if it's in our system it will come up. You can also scan it with our free app.
