this might do better in the Database forum or maybe the CPG - Questions and Answers forum, as this one is mostly for problems with the site. Members can add story info that can mention characters, but that won't come up with the search engine. only admins can add to the subtitles. Doesn't appear you can add to the Facts or Characters sections tho, only saw those on older Spideys, not sure those sections are still done, but no 'add' button next to them.

you can ask Gilgandra, he's an admin and in Australia and might know some other users there. message him thru his profile page, https://comicspriceguide.com/members/gilgandra

I think some time back they were thinking of being able to use countries in the member search, but not sure how far that got.

wrong forum for this, you need to go up one. this is for COMPLETED database issues, not new corrections. and always good to put a link to the issue in your post so people don't have to paw thru search results to get to it, thanks. and if you have links to examples of the price differences, it's helpful to post that too.

The box set came out in 2016, so I'd think that the B edition would have a 2016 date in the indicia, or 'reprint' in it. Therefore CPG should have a 2016 date for the B edition. I read a blog post from 2016 that also said the collectors box edition was a reprint of the 2013 one, so that makes it published in 2016.

It's faster if you submit it yourself. Take good square-on pics/scans, .jpg format preferred, cropped to the edges. If you can't, then find them on the net, with no watermarks, and no signatures. Use the "Report Missing Variant" function found in the listings for individual books.
  • Navigate to the specific book that is missing a variant.
  • Select the 'Variants' tab found next to 'Values'.
  • You should see a red box titled "! Report Missing Variants" on the right side below any listed variants.
  • Clicking the box will bring up a page where you can enter information specific to the variant you are reporting (not all is required). This includes what it's called, price, artist, publication date, etc. This makes it much faster for the admins to process the request.
Be patient, it may take weeks/months. See this post for how to check on variants you've submitted: https://comicspriceguide.com/forum/topic15583-new-feature-related-to-variants.aspx

Value When Submitting to CGC

Just my two cents on the matter. I am not claiming that it is how it is handled now but, as I stated, I know for a fact that originally it was based on the ungraded FMV.

could be, back when they first started, before it became a thing for graded comics to be worth way over raw value most of the time. CGC does change things for good and bad over time. But when you ship raw comics IN, you insure them with the carrier for the raw value, as that's all a carrier is going to pay. After it gets to CGC and they log it in and note no damages, the carrier has nothing to do with them then. The declared value on the CGC invoice is for while it's in their possession, for their insurance company, and then for the carrier when they ship it back to you, so then they're valued/insured at the graded market price you put (guessed) on the invoice. I'm not sure how CGC handles things if there was a fire/water damage before the comics were graded, but they'd probably file for raw value, which is probably all an insurance co. would pay at that point. so there's 2 insurance values to use, one for getting there, and one for getting back.

it's there, according to what I see and googled: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/weatherman/1C/pkwsbtw

for future reference, it's very helpful to attach a pic or a link to one, it saves people research/finding time. Most times when someone gets an error message for the variant form, it works for others, so they can add it. but in this case it looks like they already have it, unless there's yet another Fegredo one.

you mean the image isn't showing to you? some people lately have had problems with their browsers not loading the images. sometimes it's a browser update that messes it up, or it needs an update, and sometimes it's a CPG glitch. it may not work on a phone, but work on a desktop, or vice-versa.

Marvel Transformers comics 1985 and 1986

did you try using just 'Transformers' instead of 'The Transformers'? Using the The often messes up the search results, so always try fewer keywords, like the main group/character name.

Using just Transformers and the default US country choice, you get 217 results. Using 'The Transformers' you only get 38. Using All Countries you get 307, so that should get you all the titles you're looking for.

And since you'll probably need it, see this thread for my search tips (4th post down): https://comicspriceguide.com/forum/topic12110-evil-ernie-youth-gone-wild-directors-cut.aspx

I think the issue is with using the word 'The' as in 'The Weatherman''. If I just search 'Weatherman' then the variant is listed. Searching 'The Weatherman' results in not listing the 1C variant. Maybe a noobie fail on my part but note to self, try dropping the word 'The' when searching for titles.

Superman: 3-2-1 Action! Trade Paperback

well, it's got me stumped too. hard to believe this wasn't listed 13 years ago, or by now, but I can't find it under any Superman/Action title, or even Countdown, as that's what tie-ins it reprints. Usually it would be under the Trade Paperback tab with whatever title it would go with, but there isn't any tab for the main titles it should be with, but when it collects issues from multiple titles, there's no telling where it might be. I wasted over 45 minutes doing every search I can think of, including just 'superman action' and superman etc, and nada.

so it may have been missed, or maybe ronbatman can find it, or add it. and your pic link doesn't work, those seem to be unique to each visitor there. I get a different file url number than yours when doing 'view image', so here's GCD's page for it for CPG to get more info and the pic: https://www.comics.org/issue/512378/

As I've mentioned before sometimes a direct or newsstand is missing because we cannot find it. Some are extremely rare.

We currently have 3 admins working on missing variants to cut the number down. They have taken 600 variants off the list so can we stop saying "no telling when they'll get added"? Please. Those three guys are working hard, researching, pricing, and approving the variants.
Ron

ok, sorry Ron. I removed the offending phrase, but YOU did post not long ago that "It might take up to a month or two for a variant to get approved", so I keep referring people to that post. I'll remove that link from my draft reply to future variant posts if it's no longer accurate. And to be fair, we have no idea how many people work on adding variants or how behind./caught up they are unless we're told, so now we're told. good to know, thanks.

and being able to subscribe to a thread again. and block posts/members from view and messaging. and add site links to our profile page.

It's faster if you submit it yourself. HOWEVER, if the Graham Crackers.com on there is a watermark and not actually printed on the comic, then you can't use that pic. If it's printed on the comic, then ok. If you own a copy, it would be better to get a bigger pic via a scanner or good camera, and crop it to the edges. The use the "Report Missing Variant" function found in the listings for individual books. You must be logged in to do this.
