I certainly hope you have never given that store owner any of your business since then. Wow! Presenting a coverless comic as a printing error and charging you full price for it was petty at best. It's called marketing! Dishonest marketing, but none the less. Owner might have the makings of a politician. |

There is an odd bug with a specific version of iPhones and a specific build of Safari for that iPhone that we've never been able to isolate. Every iPhone in our office works flawlessly, but we get this report enough to know there's something weird out there.
The current workaround is to download the Google Chrome web browser for iPhone and use that to access CPG. It works in Chrome, just not the native iPhone browser. Thanks - will try it |

Plastic or waterproof comic storage boxes

You will be hard pressed to find many plastic comic storage containers. They are not practical ... or necessarily "safe" for storing comics. Most plastics that would be used would off-gas vapours that are not good for the books. If you use a sealed plastic container you will also run into problems as well because, again, you would seal in gases that may eventually damage your books. While the current plastic comic boxes available are not ideal they would still be one of the best because they are already designed for comic storage and they can breath much like the cardboard storage boxes. Mind you if the environment that your books are stored in isn't good then it really doesn't matter what you store your books in. My attempt a humor above has brought out Ox as bearer of common sense. Storing in plastic box is okay for very short term fix. there is a reason boxes are paper - out gassing. Over time acid out gassing will degrade comics. Suggest using approved - acid free - container. The are specially made for a reason. |

Capn Doug is exactly correct. If you ordered a subscription directly from DC these comics would come without a bar code on the cover. Hope this helps. |

Here are a few more covers for your viewing enjoyment
1) Compliment to Two Gun Kid above - Two Gun Kid #78 The Kid meets Jesse James! Jesse just out-shot the kid - what now?

Classic Fantastic Four #147 - guess who gets a fist in the face first? Does it really matter?

How about a Charlton Hero - Here's a Judo Master #91 I picked up a while ago? Fold looks worse than it is. So who would win? Judo Master or Marvel's Shang Chi? Something to contemplate during your break time. Don't think too deeply, their fictional. Hey, they both wear red and yellow! Wish I had pajamas that looked like that! BTW - classic cover on that MOKF - Just like work every day...

Here's one I picked up somewhere that needs no introduction. Love those crazy arms...

To always leave with a funny book, here's a rare pick for below market value - Bob Hope # 91. Small fold on cover - not torn off, just a fold in the scan. A little rough but hard to find in any readable condition. Still classic cool after all these years. And no Bing to steal the babe...

That's all for this week.. Hope your Easter was blessed.

Unrealistic pricing on books for sale

To continue this thread - if you dare... Thor #1 2014 $150 in 9.8 ungraded. Really? http://comicspriceguide.com/for-sale/gamble/thor/1/pjyujtw Dude - this is a collector site - we can acutally look up what the comic is going for realisticly! Currently $18 in 9.8 - In my opinion one should never rate a ungraded comic more than 9.4. So maybe $12 if you are lucky? Who vote with me that this one will be $4 in two years? Anyone? KDS |

Noticed there is a price increase on Batman #386 from your list of recent value changes. Thanks for the info! Appears price change program may not have gotten all the values. At 9.4 and several other values, the raw is more than the graded. Trying to be helpful. KDS |

Ghost Rider #15, Vol.3. July 1991. One of my favorite covers.

DC Comics Super Heroes, NM. 1989, 5th printing give'a'way.

Nice comics - I especially like the Ghost Rider #15 - You forgot to mention it glows in the dark!!! Oooooohhhh!!! So that's how the heroes stay fit - The Good Health Activity book. What makes a "Key" Comic
kds_comics

"Key" is a realtivly new term usually meaning - from what I understand - the first appearance of a character (e.g first Punisher in ASM #129). Or the first issue by a writer or artist. Or a significant event. The latter gets a little fuzzy. My opinion is that this is not an exact term. Other opinions on my poor attempt at en explaination? edited by kds_comics on 3/31/2016 |

CPG Values way off for ASM #1 Golden Record Reprin

Lesson Learned is always check more than one guide. Prices vary a good deal from CPG to say Overstreet Price Guide - especially for mid to low grade comics from the 1970's. For your specific comic - if you Check Comic Book Realms guide here they have the Golden Record Reprint #1 value of a 7.0 comic at $220. You also might want to check http://www.comicbookdb.com/ or http://www.mycomicshop.com/search?TID=178021 Hope this helps. KDS edited by ronbatman on 7/22/2019 |

Just out of curiosity -Why would you hate Bob Hope? Bing Crosby usually got the girl. (Going waaaaayyy back).
Judo Master is from 1967 or 1968 I think - anyone correct me if I am wrong. Odd thing was he had blond hair and blue eyes - sort of a blond Batman style western fighter studying the far east. |

Admins Sorry to ask this - perhaps I am stuck on the way to add pictures in the old forum. I have tried to add pictures via "image button" http web link but that has been hit and miss - perhaps becasue of network speed or security that prevents remote calls. So this could be me. I though I was able to make a forum post in MS Word with puctures and simply copy and pste - the picture used to appear. Handy tutorial for those of us who are confused? Thanks. KDS |

I have had that happen. You can ask for a refund. You can either keep or mail back at your expense. Not a lot of good choices. No guarantee you will get your money back - (Except from me - I have a money back guarantee if you are not happy for any reason - but that's just me.) The one I got was supposed to be 8.0 and was more like a 3.5. It happens. I did see a picture in advance - but that did not tell me about the poor condition of the interior of the comic.
As a caveat - this has NOT happened on CPG.
Folks here are usually better than those on Craigslist or elsewhere because they are experienced collectors.

Thanks - welcome to the reasonable side. Unfortunately I just cannot get interested in another Marvel attempt to create a female version of a male 1960's character (see Captain Marvel - twice!).
