7/12/2023 Topic: How often are new/variant covers updated? Casper0312	Hi there. If you haven't already, you should submit any variants via the quick button option from the main (parent) issue. Go to the variant tab, click the red button, and give a little information, a link is awesome as well as an image, if possible. The more information you are able to provide the better. They go to a giant research queue and admins take and work them in a variety of ways, but the ones with the most detail usually get quicker attention. If I have to put my Nancy Drew hat on, while incredibly satisfying to resolve, these little info/vague submissions can really slow down the overall process. There are a variety of ways value is assessed and generated by the magic algorithm. I'll let someone else provide whatever detail is appropriate. If there are entries missing a cover, and you have one, posting here in the forums under the Database Issues forum can help. Also, if the cover is just missing, you can upload a scan of the issue yourself and your peers will approve the submission. Cover submissions are generally resolved same/next day. I did notice in the Verifications parts of the site, on all but the Creators page, the identifier for what book you are verifying is not visible. Also, when you first enter a tab, the Letter of the title you first fall into is not highlighted with the circle. It isn't until you actively click on a letter that the highlights appear. Now, we know that the letter furthest to the left will always be what you are on, however, if you are using something like Dark Reader/Mode, it isn't very apparent since all letters display in Dark Mode. You want this deeper test, yes?

7/18/2023 Topic: Missing Issue - Classics Illustrated Casper0312	Classics Illustrated works a little differently. It is keyed off the HRN (Highest Reorder Number), which is the number on the reprint order form on the back of the book, or inside the back cover. It is a little weird. So, all issues of Les Miserables will be #9, but the print is determined by the HRN such as 14 18 20. When searching, search for "Classics Illustrated #9" or "Les Miserables". They will all be issue #1 in the database and the comment identifies the HRN. Note, some have a space after the # (such as the 84 above) Classics Illustrated #9 - Les Miserables [HRN 51] -David

When reconciling the Missing Creators list, when you click the Add button, the entry does add to the database but also remains on the list. I was only able to remove it from the list by going to the regular site and clicking the Delete option on the entry. Thx -David

7/22/2023 Topic: Missing variant review time Casper0312	I've been targeting the leftovers from 2022 right now and also Dynamite. Indys usually take longer, especially kickstarter ultra low run variants. and, of course, anything submitted without a cover scan . Tips for speeding up a variant submission... include a scan, even if it is shitty. I have no problem replacing it with a crisper scan since it saves an incredible amount of time trying to figure some of these out. Including a link to a site where it is up for auction, or publisher site helps as well. While some of them are comical, I do like it when ppl provide what they think the 9.4 value should be. If we are way off. alignment, it is easier for me to kick it to another admin, than correcting it later. Gimme one you submitted and I'll see if I can grab it for you. -David
7/23/2023 Topic: HARDLEE THINN Casper0312	I'm beginning to think I am having browser display problems because I cant tell which variant you would like added. All the issue designations for this title right now are "#1" on this sight. Since it is a one-shot, it probably should be a "#nn". Sites seem to handle whether to use the nn vs 1 question inconsistanty. I, unfortunately, cannot shift issues to #nn so another admin would have to do it. So for this thread/title lets assume nn=1=nn However, pretend all the #1 say #nn.... is the cover you are looking for there? If not, you need to give us a little bit more to go on so we can add the correct variant. On the back of the book, there may be a Retailer highlighted. That will usually do the trick for us. Or If you give us a link we can use to jump and get the details, that would be great. barcode would be nice pointer as well Just telling us one of the 54 variants is missing isn't going get much traction. Especially when we know about 0 are missing. We like to target those that members are trying to add and get values on and not get hung-up on variants no one desires or can own. Thanks -David
