DEar PThomas (*EEIG) i am mystified You did not say you sold 30 % of your collection But you did say your value went up? Are you being super honest and getting a Third Party valuation to bring your value down? But that wd not affect your total number of comics? This is a great mystery to me. Maybe it cd be a 10 part series on TV. If so-Make sure I get a part.
Hi Ruk, I think what PT meant was that his collection went up in value $30,000, the six months prior to him selling off 30% of his collection, even though he was dormant (not buying anything) for those six months. I was surprised he was selling but it was a good time to sell, values had gone way up. (Quieting down a little bit lately)
While I'm here
Books: 11,540 Value: $304,785.59
Thanks!!! |

Being a physics guy myself, I've always thought of schrodinger's cat as dead. I've been around enough cats to know, that if you put one in a box, he will try to get out. |

Why are there such big discrepancies between the values of the same comic on different sites. For example, a Marvel comic number 221, graded at 9.6 holds a value of 900 on some sites, but others will have that value at 2000. Shouldn't that comic hold close to the same value across the board? How do we know which is accurate? And yes, I know that something is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.

this has been known for 46 years, so no, it doesn't make it more valuable. many characters have their name misspelled here and there, and for the full print run, so it can't affect the value if they all have it. doesn't make your post more valuable either cuz you misspelled it too . In the comic it's Havoc instead of Havok. some editor was asleep, or a typesetter was. edited by collectibleshop on 8/15/2022
oh your so funny its pretty sad when your just trying to help and you get a sarcastic remark. SORRY I did not know this has been known for 46 years

When searching for Iron Man (68-96) or Incredible Hulk (68-011), "King Kong" appears both times. Yikes! Edit: Now the search for Captain America and Captain Marvel end up on the King Kong page also. edited by Spiderfishman on 8/16/2022
All those searches work fine for me , must be something with your computer/phone. You might want to try restarting. |

This is related to scraping data. Spiderfishman you were using some type of automated search that was flagged by our system and then manually checked by a real person. If you think this was in error please send an email to customer service.
Since a certain competitor has arrived on our street, we have seen a huge surge in scrapping data. Any attempt to scrape data will result in being "Konged". Because we are still the King. (see what I did there) Ron

Hey Ruk, updates to the list have been a little quiet. Maybe because nobody wants to update values going down. Mine is still doing good. Books: 11,571 Value: $310,277.95 Thanks! |

Title is a little misleading. This is a list of most valuable collection. It make more sense if best collection is a person who has the highest average per book. #1 guy average value per book is $347.79. #2 guy average is $22.05 per book. #7 guy average value per book is $481.56. I think #7 guy has better collection because his average per book is more. Just my honest opinion.
Except average value per book is easily manipulated, I could easily remove all my low value books and have a much higher value per book. What fun would that be? |

And Marvin isn't even on this website anymore..... Ruk's list is done just right. We can see who has the most valuable collection, we can see who has the most books and some of us can do the math and see who has the best per book value. This is Ruk's list, leave the old man alone. |

By the way Ruk, Glad has four books imputed. A value of $3350, for a per book value of $837.50.............. Maybe that's why he wanted to see the list his way......Am I right, Gladvlad? |

Cheers Ruk, as long as you are up and about, I might as well tell you about the crazy thing I did. Time will tell if it was the right thing to do, but as of right now, it was a deal I could not pass up. I spent a large chunk of change, on only fifteen books. All books were mid-grade keys. Twenty years ago, I sold off some keys to put a nice down payment on my house. That was hard. In May of this year, I paid off my home, so I've been looking for deals on Marvel keys and a couple of weeks ago I found one. Like I said, a deal I could not pass up. Right now, I'm very happy with the deal. It bumped up my collections value considerably. Books: 11,626 Before the purchase: Value: Around $310,277
After purchase: Value: $499,610.80
I'm hoping to get them cleaned and pressed, to get them up even a little higher. Nine of them now sit at the top of my Display case. RIXMAXX | Comics Price Guide
Thanks, Ruk! |

PSSS-I see only Marvel comics in your display case where is DC? where is Fawcett? Where is Dell? these young fellers do not appreciate the Classics................ Editor's Note( Ruk is seen slowly exiting the bldg stage right-)
Hi Ruk, you see so much Marvel because those are my most valuable books. I do have 1700 DC and 33 Dell books, they're just not valuable enough to make the list. (There are a couple DC in display case, a 7.0 Batman #181 and a graded 9.6 Batman Adventures #12) As far as classics go, my Disney movie poster collection has them all. I have three rooms of my home filled with Disney, from movie posters to stuffed animals.
Thanks for looking! - Rick |

Hi Ruk, so how many Four Colors do you have? There are 1332, of which I have only 21 but I do have all 16 of the Goofy books. I don't have much for Golden Age books, I think two, my oldest is Jimmie Durante Comics #1 from 1948 |

GCD :: Series :: Four Color (comics.org)
This is a link to a page of all things Dell and a list of the Four Color books. Along with CPG, I have all my comic books in a software program on my computer, called ComicBase. It lists all the books under "Four Color" (series 1 and series 2) rather than under their separate names like CPG. Having over 500 is quite impressive. |
