Robin #1 2nd print cover error

Is your copy the newsstand version? If yes, you have a nice book. If yours is the direct version (no UPC), it's only worth about $3. I would say it would be but if you're doing it to turn a quick buck, keep in mind the law of supply and demand. "Sold" auctions are the best way to gauge demand (not those for sale as they are not guaranteed sales".

  • The 2nd Printing of this issue was indicated on the indicia and not on the cover with the Roman Numeral II.
  • "The Adventure Begins" instead of "Free Poster Inside" that is on 1st print
  • Very Rare
  • II not on Cover, 2nd Printing listed in Indicia

You can print by box. Go to your boxes and click the arrow. There is an option to print the box from there.

Grading and other Questions: Been Away for 25 yrs+

I have been collecting myself since the late 80's. I've mostly stopped buying recent books and am concentrating on completing (as much as I can) of Batman (1-9) and Detective (select books between 27 and 76). Still on the lookout for those.

I think if you sell individually, for those key books, you may see a higher return. If you sell as a lot, you may not get as much as you may hope.

As far as supplies go, consider looking at BCWsupplies.com. If you are buying in bulk, you can get some nice discounts on bulk buying as well as free ground shipping (over $200). I've done this a couple of times to help save myself some money.

I keep a spreadsheet (pretty detailed) of what I own. I may be missing an issue or two that are not reflected in CPG or Overstreeet. I like Overstreet for that high level look but as book values can change at an instant (Batman 313- first Tim Fox), CPG is better at keeping a pulse on the day-to-day look at our hobby.

Good luck.

Hey Steve,

If you got an email through CPG, you can click on your icon in the upper right corner. The first tab is "Messages". Click on the button that says "All messages". It will then take you to CPG messages. From there, you can open each email and on the right, there is a reply button. You do have to put in the "subject" as it doesn't populate (so its like doing a new conversation each time).

Hope that helps.

Errors from grading companies (CGC/CBCS/PGX)

BasementComics
BasementComics
Hi there.

I have a CGC copy of Batman v3 #50 Jae Lee Dynamic Forces virgin color cover that has a wrong label on it. The front label states "Batman #50 Dynamic Forces Virgin Edition" however the label on the top reads "Dynamic Forces B&W virgin edition.

I also have a Detective Comics #1000 that is the black and white version (I have two) but both labels list it as a "sketch" edition.

Has anyone else run into these kind of errors with these companies?

Just curious.

Thanks

Donald

I know Ron has written about Star Wars and other series seriously heating up. I am on eBay daily and I can see these books are skyrocketing based on sales out data. If demand far exceeds supply, that will continue to drive costs up.

Dark Knight III hardcover listed twice

BasementComics
BasementComics
Hi,

I noticed that the hardcover for Dark Knight III is listed twice.

Dark Knight Iii: The Master Race #1 Hard Cover Values and Pricing | DC Comics | The Comic Price Guide (comicspriceguide.com) (says it collects the entire series)

Batman: The Dark Knight--Master Race #1 Hard Cover Values and Pricing | DC Comics | The Comic Price Guide (comicspriceguide.com) (says it collects issues 1-9)

I think both are the same so one probably needs to be removed.

thanks

Trying to figure out what the deal is on Batman Beyond #50. Is there more to this issue other than being the last of the series?

It's already there.

New Teen Titans #34 B Values and Pricing | DC Comics | The Comic Price Guide (comicspriceguide.com)

Newsstand version is here: New Teen Titans #34 Values and Pricing | DC Comics | The Comic Price Guide (comicspriceguide.com)

Try searching with fewer words. I typed in teen titans 34 and was able to view it.

Hey Ronbatman,

Is there a way for me to print out, for example, all my DC raw and graded books into one export or do they have to be done separately? Is it possible to add an "all" feature?

Just curious.

Thanks

Favorite way to organize large comic collections

I have mine organized in an Excel document alphabetically. I use CPG reporting when I want to see (easier) my collections by manufacturer.

Storing them is a little different. I keep graded books separate from my Golden Age Batman and Detective (and large format books like Last Ronin) which is separate from my $35+ books and finally, the remainder of the collection.

It works for me.

Hey Robert,

When you ask about "getting my collection up with these", are you talking about buying them or logging them into CPG?

inventorying Direct and Newsstand comics

I believe Ron has written about this before. In the 70s and 80s, newsstand copies were more readily available and direct was shorter printings. In The 90s and the explosion of the direct market, it all flipped. So in a nutshell, the primary cover (A) will be what was more readily at the time.

Ronbatman, hope I summed it up well enough.
