Del'Otto variants can Garner huge bucks. Take very good care of it especially if distribution numbers are low.
I'm the first to admit i know not of his work...Have seen a few variants come & go over the years but that Venom cover reminded me of these cards from the Fleer Ultra Spider-Man series from 1995.
I'll have to take more notice now Lol his work is nothing short of awesome & beyond...

Almost as good as my favorite Venom pic by Dave Dorman.

You had me looking The "Seven Deadly Finns" is not a title but a story arc within the main title of The Shadow. Here is a link http://comicspriceguide.com/titles/shadow-the/xjy
You'll find them starting from issue 8 - 13 (6 parter) of The Shadow Vol.3 1987-89

Hey HR, All good over here my friend. Helping out with the Data administrators now, Approving the data for CPG's mega computer. Lot's of fun Lol. seeing books i've never seen or heard of before & chasing down prices & cover dates is great learning so much more then i did before.
How's things over your way & How are you feeling? It would be nice if some of the older members from the old forum would come back & talk, Robbie, Bounty, Tex... etc, etc Ah well maybe one day HR |

Nice, glad you have time to help out on the site. It has been obvious that you have been answering people's questions recently. Hopefully this means the site is easier to access for you compared to a few months ago. All good for me besides the recent political election here. I've picked up a few nice additions to my collection but am trying to slow down in buying as many comics as I use to. Yes, Robbie, Bounty and Tex would be great to hear from. Robbie and Tex came back when the site was fixed but only for a short time, but seems they found better pastures to roam and view.
Love helping out the noobs, I was a big one myself for many a year & i learnt from my mistakes. No internet back when we started collecting right Lol. Being an administrator is a privilege indeed, I feel i now have gone full circle with this most excellent (quote from Bill & Ted Lol) hobby. I know you have some awesome comic books, slabbed & all. You have no idea how lucky you are in America to be able to get them slabbed, Cost an arm & leg from here down under. I do still talk to Tex on his Blog but don't hear from the others, Miss them alot. Robbie does leave a comment on Tex's blog sometimes. There are others that i miss but can't remember there names, I wish they would come back to us. There are big things brewing in the CPG universe, I would like to be here when they do happen but at least i have you mate, A remnant from the old forum. Have or do you know what happened to Mitz (unknown) he is missed! |

And, Here it is again on another site i found http://picclick.com.au/Comic-Book-King-Comics-The-Phantom-281914562362.html
It's an odd one as it looks to be from the Kings Features 1966 - 67 http://comicspriceguide.com/titles/phantom-the/ynus section of books but it's not.

I'm also interested in having some of my collection graded. Do most comic-book stores offer this service? I am in Australia and not sure if that has any bearing on this or not. Cheers!
Where in Australia are you? I'm in NSW.
The bigger stores may help you with a professional grading service like CBCS or CGC in America, Meaning they may send your books to the states to get slabbed (graded) for a price with there own books.
Here in Australia there is only one other grading service for comic books called Halo Certification located in Queensland http://www.halocertificationptyltd.com/ Not saying they are bad at all, They are getting better at it & i may just use them in the future. look out for them at Con's throughout the country like Supernova...
Hope to see you there in Sydney next year. |

Cheers for the info Gilgandra! I'm currently down the South Coast at Ulladulla at the mo. S'funny, I've been collecting for over 20 years and never been to a con before. I was just saying to the missus the other day it would be a righteous turnout and we should give one a crack. Been getting into my collection again after years and this is the first time I've mixed up on a comic site. A lot more chilled out vibe than most other type of message-boards I've been on. Anyhow, thanks for the shout mate. See you around the traps ace!
Ulladulla, that's a nice place to be, Never been there but maybe one day. It's been said before that it's better here on CPG then most other forums Lol. I too only went to my first Con. 2 years ago (Supernova) in Sydney. It was most awesome & yes i've been collecting since 94'. Met some cos players dressed as Robocop & Monkey Magic. It was like i was a kid again. Go to one, You don't have to dress up & you won't regret it.
Go to the simple stalls with the acres of comics that seem cheap as chips. Take a list of 20+ books that you want (ones at a reasonable price Lol) & hunt for them. As an example: I found Captain Atom #42 (1st App: Death of the endless in the DC continuity, Outside DC/Vertigo) for $2. It predates Action Comics #894 Look it up.
Have fun & keep in touch, Start a back issue thread if you you like. Hope to here from you again. edited by Gilgandra on 11/18/2016 |
