Hey Joe, Got any pics to share?

Twin Cities Comics is doing a Margot Robbie signing and depending on the item, are charging between $310-400 so if it's legit, it could be close to a $500-$750 IMO.

Basement - I am not worthy

Batman 14-713 Vol2 1-52 Vol3 1-Current (844 issues)

I keep buying the latest issues because I have a feeling they will revert back to the original numbering system as they approach #1000.

If they stop and restart again, that may drive me out of new comics but there are still so many golden age books I need.

I will make you a friendly bet that they revert back as they approach 1000. I think they are only at about 860 right now so it will still be a few years.

Boy those Golden Age Batmans are getting so expensive. I haven't bought one for a year because a low grade will cost me a grand by the time I pay shipping, import, and exchange to Canada.

Here's one I have my eye on but I can't afford a big buy right now. It'll probably end up around $400 US.

I was a little off... it sold for $521. So this raw golden age Batman #6 that would grade .5 or 1.0 at best sold for $521 but on CPG it is valued at $200 in .5 and $300 in 1.0. I feel like there needs to be an adjustment made across the board to golden age low grade books. Also, I feel there should be a coverless (.3) option for the grade. Furthermore, I have a graded page from Batman 1 that I can't enter in the database even though it cost me $300 USD.

I've asked that for some time. Spawn seems to be getting love right now so hopefully the Bat will soon.

If you go to All-Star Superman and click on the title, you will see tabs and one of those is FCBD.

E-Bay Is NOT A Price Guide!!!

Mile High Comics is notorious for selling books at 1.5-2X "guide" price and they sell MILLIONS of dollars worth of books. It really comes down to "a book is worth what someone is willing to pay for it". For example, I (probably) overpaid for a golden age detective book but as that is the going price on ebay, that, in my opinion, is what it's worth. Guides like CPG and Overstreet are just guides; they are not the end all be all for pricing.

When I'm looking at eBay and trying to figure out what a good price would be, I never look at listing price. There is a filter you can apply that shows sold/completed auctions. That is what people are actually paying. Sometimes you get a good deal, sometimes you over pay. All depends on how bad you want it.

The hard thing for me to accept is when I see a comic sell for $100 on ebay I think damn I could have got that for $100 but the thing is that to win that auction you would have to top the $100 bid so you are going to have to pay $110. $120, maybe $150. So sure the comic sold for $100 and that is what it is worth because that is what someone paid for it but IF YOU WANT TO BUY IT YOU HAVE TO BEAT THAT BID!

I agree. Just because that's what some crazy sellers and retailers do doesn't mean I agree with them. I was watching an older Detective on ebay and it sat at about $300 for most of the time. It ended at over double that. Someone wanted it just that bad. In that condition per "price guides", it was not worth $600 but someone thought it was as that is what they paid. This goes to show that some price guides are not reflecting current market values.

I just don't get why you are so angry about it. The comic book market follows the same rules of capitalism as any other market. Why should comics be any different? Why do you feel there should be a code that protects our hobby from market forces. If they are priced too high they won't sell and if someone pays $100 for a $3 book they are stupid and deserve to get ripped off.

It's like when people get mad about Chuck Rozanski not giving Edgar Church's family enough money for the greatest comic score in history as if he owed it to them. It's capitalism people! It ain't pretty but it is the way it is.

I read his post (yeah, I subscribe to his newsletter) about that. Its such an awesome story.

For $500 I’d rather spend that on a nice silver age or Bronze Age Batman book that will hold value.

They have been horrible at communication on eBay. I'm going to see if I can get eBay and Paypal to get the transaction cancelled and get me my money back and then it's diving for Golden Age books for me.

I didn't pick up the box set but I did get the Art Adams variants. They arrived yesterday and are awesome. The packaging could have been a little better as they put 3 very thick books in a one of those "mailers" inside a priority envelope, but I am happy with what I got.

I finally got a response from them that the 3 foil boxes for each of the 9 variants were taking longer to come in. Now I just wait.

Glad you like those. I ordered the full set as it was cheaper that way per book (average of $21 per book which isn't bad).

Why all of a sudden??

I wish I knew. Has Lucasfilm announced an Old Republic film that could star Revan? I had action figures and the Gentle Giant busts that I sold for crazy prices. If people are willing to pay those prices, I won't say no. I know Revan is cool and all...
