That's because they are talking about a television series for Paper Girls on some network somewhere. Looks pretty solid. |

This is a kind of spin-off of The Fast and Furious franchise which actually works pretty well. I did not find it as ridiculous as the Fast and Furious franchise has become, though there is a lot of silliness to it. The chemistry between Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham is the glue that keeps this movie going. These are two characters that just do not like each other and are forced to work together to save the world. Where have we heard that before? Anyway, somehow, the movie works. This movie is 2 hours and 15 minutes long and the time went by very quickly. The preview I saw was even delayed about 10 or 15 minutes from the start due to technical problems and the movie still went by at a fast pace. During the ending credits there are three breaks. Two during the credits find one at the very end. |

Peter Fonda dead at age 79

Peter Fonda died on August 16th of lung cancer. He played the devil alongside Nicholas Cage in the movie "Ghost Rider." Of course, he was a 60's icon for co-writing the movie "Easy Rider" and starring in it. He even had the nickname 'Captain America'in the movie. I met him once at an autograph signing at a motorcycle store and we had a long talk. You could tell he was proud of his son, Justin, as he would bring him up out of the blue and talk about how he made these fantastic knives that he would sell online. He did not talk about anybody else in his family(considering his dad was Henry Fonda, his sister was Jane Fonda and his daughter was Bridget Fonda ... all famous actors), but his son. He was a proud father. edited by colbalt91 on 8/18/2019 |

I saw the Joker movie tonight. It has the atmosphere of Taxi Driver. It has the kind of steaminess of New York City in the 70s. Also it does not hurt to have Robert De Niro starring in the movie. As the movie goes along it gets wilder and wilder. There is also a more direct tie into Batman then what the internet has been hinting at. So if you enjoy enjoyed Taxi Driver you will definitely enjoy this movie. Joaquin Phoenix certainly deserves an Oscar for this performance. |

Most major cities give out preview screening passes through some internet sites or radio stations. I got mine through an Internet site called redcarpetcrash and my tickets came directly from Warner Brothers. One more interesting thing in the movie that takes place in the 70s is that there is a garbage strike which actually happened in New York City during that time. Garbage just piled up and the city supposedly really stunk. The reason I remember this is I read an article one time that some people in New York City where putting their garbage in a box and wrapping it up in gift paper and ribbons and leaving it unattended in their cars with the windows open. And since it was New York City that box would disappear and the people would have gotten rid of their garbage and some crook somewhere would be awfully disappointed |

ASM # 20 Parrill variant might be getting censored

I was looking on the internet and noticed that there are two different pictures for the Parrillo variant of Amazing Spider-Man number 20. One has the female Craven with a vest that has eyes on it near her breasts and the other has no eyes on the vest. Perhaps because of people like me. The reason I was looking up the picture was I was going to send it to friends with the caption: Hey, my eyes are up here, and not down ... Whoops! It comes out next week. Let's see if the eyes make it. edited by colbalt91 on 10/4/2019 |

And true irony, Dark Horse has banned Brian Woods,DMZ's creator, from working for it's company due to his inappropriate behavior. Whatever that was. However Dark Horse sees nothing wrong with advertising a certain cover and then when you order it you find out they changed their cover. I do not buy Dark Horse Horse Comics anymore. Thank goodness Buffy is with another company now. |

The Amazing Mary Jane # 1 Artgerm cover has a hidden variant. What is weird is I did not read it on the internet, but rather a comic book store in their Monday pull list showed that there was a hidden variant for the Artterm cover. They were selling it for $14.99. They sold out. So on Wednesday I went to this one other comic shop that was more interested in gaming than comics and who are known to not pay attention to their product. I figured that they would make a mistake and put out the hidden variants like they had done once before and I had cleaned up. But due to some packages getting delayed, when they finally put out their stuff there were no hidden variants. I think their subscribers had called and wiped them out. So then I went to my comic shop where I had ordered just one Mary-Jane Artgerm variant and lo and behold the comic they handed me was the one with the hidden variant. All that trouble I went through and it was so easy to get it. edited by colbalt91 on 10/24/2019 |

The hidden variant has like a black banner across the bottom. You can look it up on some of the eBay sites. And if you come across a batch of the Amazin Jane number one it will be the comic that will look different from the other covers. |

This has nothing to do with the Mary Jane variant, but I would thought you guys would like to know that Walmart has received their copies of the three pack packets. At least I found a bunch of them today whereas last week they were not there. Not keeping that to myself. |

I was more a Captain Kangaroo fan and had rarely seen any Mister Rogers episodes so I was mildly curious about this movie and the fact that usually when Tom Hanks does a movie the Academy Awards follow automatically. This movie is really great. When the Academy Awards follow they will definitely be justified. This movie sometimes gets surreal as this one journalist is shown doing a feature on the mythical/real Mister Rogers. In the end the journalist, played by Matthew Rhys, concludes that Mister Rogers is his hero and everybody's hero, and yet he is just a man...or is he? |

For cons and such they have a section at the bottom of this page called General Interest where you should have probably put it. Anyway enough with the nitpicking. Yes, Neal Adams is one of the greats that is still alive so be glad you did meet him before he someday vanishes off the earth. He does have a large ego, but then again his artwork does back it up. He loves to talk and will expound on just about anything which I find very fascinating as you can learn a lot from him. His favorite drink is Diet Coke. Sometimes he makes a big thing about that. Overall you seems to be a very nice guy. He is a legend, and he will let you know that sometimes. It is always interesting to meet Neal Adams. edited by colbalt91 on 11/24/2019 |

One of those comics turned out to be that new Spider Verse title that jumped up in value, for the Walmart edition. Anyway getting back to hidden variants ... next week Red Mother comes out by Boom Studios and it has a hidden variant. I think the lettering of Red Mother is all in red on the hidden variant. Supposedly there will be a lot of issues of this comic, for an independent like Boom to put out, so a lot of hidden variants. I recommend going with the second print, also. edited by colbalt91 on 12/6/2019 |

Miles Morales Spiderman #13

This issue introduces Miles Morales's baby sister. I think this issue has sold out pretty much everywhere. There is one regular copy and two variants as far as I know. Then I saw a cover shot for issue # 16 which depicts Miles Morales as Spider-Man hovering over a baby crib that shows his sister's picture. So that would be the first cover appearance of his sister. Then of course sometime there will be another appearance of his sister undoubtedly in a costume and that would be her first appearance in her costume. Sounds basic. That's how Marvel extends a new character's presence to sell more than just one certain issue nowadays. So you might as well get out there and start the collection. |

Another hidden variant supposedly coming out December 26th for a Marvel series called Incoming # one. The hidden, but not-so-hidden anymore, variant will be a variant of the variant. Supposedly stores that participate in this launch of this comic get these variant covers showing everybody with a universe face. But there will be some variants, the hidden ones that have some of the characters without the universe face with their regular face. Yes it sounds confused. Also Dark Agnes in what seems her first appearance in the Conan Serpent War # 2 comic coming out this Wednesday. She is set to get her own series very soon |

As for that first appearance of Dark Agnes it seems the Marvel has an in-house publication out that has Dark Agnes in it and that would proceed even the Conan # 2. That's why I said it seems earlier because you can never trust the comic book industry as it is today. Check your local comic book store for the in-house publication as it is free. |
