Ha, I know remember you telling us about Neal doing that for you, fantastic he did that.
Bill Sienkiewicz was also willing to draw her for me at a show and he seemed to be a little perked up at the request. Unfortunately, providing a photo reference required me to leave the show and I was unable to make it back. It was going to be 50 miles of driving to get a photo and go back.
She doesn't like crowds or strangers trying to talk to her. She's an artist who paints and draws and she will read comics, but that's not enough to get her to go to a comic show.

I remember most of those Adams pieces. The 2007 book is sporting a wicked Tarzan cover.
I like the coloring from Continuity and I think that helps the Tarzan cover jump out even more.
I have most of the Continuity Studios sketchbooks unless he's released some new ones. I'm missing a Chicago Convention Exclusive.... http://comicchecklist.hol.es/Continuity/Sketchbook/Continuity_Sketchbook.html

My suggestion is to tease people with an introduction about your collection without really saying anything. Build it up like its really awesome so that collectors start letting the greed in their mind get the best of them. Whip out some unimpressive list in a few days and leave people perplexed afterwards. That's my suggestion.

I couldn't bring myself to see it. I used to own the Dark Horse comic series. The art was great, but I flipped them for a profit. I never actually read the series or cared. I like Scarlett Johansson, but I'm tired of seeing her so much. I feel bad saying that because I said the same thing about Bill Paxton a week before he died. The effects looked interesting from the trailer, but I'm glad I read your review. It makes me glad I didn't see it. Scarlett Johansson isn't enough eye candy for me to sit through the movie. I'm also very tired of used up movie phrases like "Everything you've been told is a lie..." or "The war had been going on for centuries..." This movie falls into the "everything is a lie" cliche. Yawn! |

Raw Valus vs Graded Value

If you are not familiar with comic grading, I am quite sure that your comics are not mint. You can go to 10 comic stores and look at every comic put on the shelf the day they come out (before anyone has bought one off the shelf) and they won't be considered mint. |

Autographs/Signatures on Comics!

People collect signatures, so a famous person's signature can have value apart from comics. I would say Michael Bay's signature would be collectible whether it was on a comic or not. It's not so much that the comic increased in value, it's just that Michael Bay's signature would be more valuable than 99% of the comic creators out there. |

Per the Wikipedia:
Seth is the pen name of Gregory Gallant (born September 16, 1962), a Canadian cartoonist best known for his series Palookaville and his mock-autobiographical graphic novel It's a Good Life, If You Don't Weaken (1996).

I have a little flip cover sketchbook which is Tomine art on one side and an artist named Seth on the flip side. I'm not sure if it's the same Seth either.

How young is the girl? If she's underage, the consumers, retailers, & publisher could be in violation of US Federal child pornography laws by even owning it. The laws cover even illustrations of underage people. Smart thing to get rid of the trash. It sounds like a waste of paper.

I'm sure some have value, but I've never met a collector that wanted to collect them. A $50 comic with no buyer is essentially worthless. I don't get excited when I see them. |

Yeah. I liked a couple of indy female comic characters in the 90's and Avatar negotiated to publish the characters and turned them into porn. I avoid their stuff entirely.

Sure they have better books but still wouldn't support them. I just don't think I would miss much by them by doing so and so many fun, interesting books by other small publishers out there. Mind you, I have no halo above my head by saying the above, I will say I have and do buy every now and then a CAVEWOMEN issue and at times will buy the nude cover variant by Budd also. That is the only comic adult product I buy.
I really liked Cavewoman's 1st self-published series and the second Cavewoman:Rain series published by Caliber. Budd would do topless sketches for people at cons and it was cute. Avatar published an issue and it ruined the whole flavor of what Budd had created. I lost all interest in the character. Except for a few issues to evaluate the aftermath and a convention sketchbook, I've never bought anything by him since.
I've got some early art by him and it's the most viewed stuff I have at comicartfans.com
Original color art over a photocopy of the inked art. The photocopy art is cut and pasted over the blue gradient background. This was the cover art to a 2nd printing on the Cavewoman:Rain series. This is my most viewed art piece.

Cavewoman: Rain #1 Page 9 (her 1st appearance in the 2nd series)

Cavewoman:Rain #2 Splash Page (Budd told me he spent more time on this page than he spent on the whole rest of the book)

Cavewoman #2 Splash Page (Original series)

I have 4 or five more pages of his original art and I have the greytone watercolor art used to publish an entire issue from the Cavewoman:Rain series.
I thought those series were fun and Avatar ruined the character for me.

Comic Books for kids in hospitals, cancer centers
Defiant1

Years ago, a representative from a hospital contacted a friend of mine. He was hoping my friend could buy some comics that had been donated to the hospital. The hospital needed money and had no use for a bunch of used comics. While it seems to be a good idea and a nice idea to donate comics, a hospital is a sanitary environment. Used comics can carry germs or mold spores that can affect the recovery of their patients. My advice is to sell the comics and donate money. The hospital my friend was in contact with did not want donated comics and had no intention of making them available to sick kids that had compromised immune systems.

Good luck! Traffic viewing the boards seems low here.
I think it's important for people to know that just because they donate comics, those said comics may not go exactly where they were hoping they'd go. It's good that you are working with the facilities.

Batman Incorporated Vol 2 is mislabeled as Vol 1
Defiant1

He said it's titled "Batman Inc." not "Batman Incorporated". If you search for "Batman Incorporated" the 8 issue series titled "Batman Inc." will not show in the results.
If this was done properly, "Batman Inc." would only go up to #4. #'s 5-8 of the same series would be "Batman Incorporated"
The 2nd series would be Vol. 2.
I'm saying that based upon the notes at the GCD website.
https://www.comics.org/series/53178/
"Notes
Indicia title for issues 4-8 is "Batman Incorporated" (spelled out). Issues 9 and 10 were solicited but cancelled. They were published in a one-shot titled Batman Incorporated: Leviathan Strikes (DC, 2012 Series) #1."
The title in the indicia is the only proper way to list a comic.
