Trying to decide to have comic autographed or not

I would not advise getting a comic autographed unless you are going to pay to have it professionally graded. If you have it graded through CGC, you must have the signing witnessed by them. If that's not possible, I'd recommend using CBCS to grade it for the reasons mentioned above. A signature not authenticated by a professional grading service will most likely decrease the value of the comic. I am someone who does not like writing on the cover of a comic. Signatures can also be forged/faked.

If you don't care about the value and the nostalgia factor is more important to you, then get it signed and don't worry about what it's worth. If I just want a reminder that I met someone famous, I'll have them sign something (anything). I've bought things from creators and specifically asked that they not sign the item. I bought some original art and the artist asked if I wanted him to sign it. I laughed and said "You drew the whole page, a signature isn't going to make it more personal than that."

The most valuable signatures are going to be the ones you get from creators that specifically don't sign their name for everyone that asks. Rob Liefeld's signature would be relatively common. Someone like Barry Windsor Smith would be more significant.

Somewhere out there in the wild there are some Charlemagne #4's signed by me on the letters page. Those are friggin' priceless. LOL! A comic shop thought it would be funny if my published letter was signed by me and in their stock. I obliged even though I felt I was devaluing a worthless comic.

Where is the best place to sell comics

The biggest problem with selling comics is that buyers want to cherry pick. As someone who has bought a few collections, I won't even make an offer if the best (most valuable) issues in a collection are missing. Letting people cherry pick the best issues can make it very difficult to sell a large number of comics.

I have a lot of comics that I want to sell, but for me it's too much of an investment of my time and too tedious for me to waste my time with in what should be my recreation or relaxation time.

Lots of nice looking sketchbooks. I take it you have a signature from Adams also?

Does his signature below a sketch of my girlfriend count?

It was a rather unusual request, but I took an 8½" X 11" cropped printout of a modeling shot of my girlfriend face. I made it as easy as possible for him (no scaling up or down required, no backgrounds interfering). His son's eyes popped out and he talked his dad into doing it. She liked it even though she didn't know who he was. Some women online said that's romantic (awwww!) and I treasure it far more than I would a sketch of Batman or Superman. I was able to negotiate a sightly lower price by comparing my request to some other sketch price offers he had in his package deal with his other products.

Dragon Con 2010 is the only time I've ever met him. I have exchanged emails with him and bought comics through Continuity dealing with his son directly by email.

I see Neal Adams is going to be at a Convention in Indiana in a couple of weeks.

The only reason I went to Dragon Con that year was to try and get a sketch from him. His prices aren't cheap, but you are getting art from one of the legends in the industry. He may charge for just his signature. I don't remember. That's been a big trend at shows the past 20 years.

One of the Continuity variants I bought in the past also came with Crazyman #1 (Vol. 1) Signed w/COA from Catch A Star Collectibles, Inc.

Here is a little combo image of the comic with the COA.
