When going over condition, if a comic appears to be an 8.0-8.5 how much would writing on the cover bring that condition grade down? It is the owners name signed on the cover in ink pen.

From what I've read, if the writing's of a person's name is not huge and obtrusive, and is in ballpoint pen - it shouldn't affect the grade up to a 9.8.
Here's an example of a 7.0 CGC with an owner's name:
Here's a 7.5...
I couldn't quickly find any in higher grades.
