FF 48-50 is quite a prize, in any grade. AND #1? Killing it...

Just a personal thing, but it bugs me how ugly the cover of #50 is, for such an important book. I hate that ditchwater brown background, just hate it.)

You sent off quite a few books. 9.2 on that Incredible Hulk is a big one.

I haven't really put that much thought into it yet. I've only recently considered changing my focus on keys (since space is a consideration now). I may go for some ASM type ones, since there are a lot of those. Perhaps that first Aunt May/Uncle Ben in Strange Tales. Of course, I have to save up some cash for a few months before I have to make that decision.

I have run out of space myself. Around 4,000 books and it is unmanageable. Has been awhile but I am sick figuring out where to put the next box not to mention single book. I would say I could get ride of 3,000 and just save 1,000.
As for saving money, I need to work on that too. As for Aunt May and Uncle Ben's first appearance, way out of my league of a book. The Hulk one completes the pair. With this Super Villain Team-up, I now have the full run. Looking forward to reading the Hero For Hire issues -- they have a massive reputation for being completely ridiculous (and maybe perhaps are the prime reason John Byrne created the 'doombots were used for all bad stories featuring Doom' explanation). Funny that Doom usually appears over two issues in those days...

Here's my copy of Vengeance of Bane (which I sold off a few years ago for about 20x what I paid for it). I seriously think it would have graded a 9.8 if I had bothered to submit it for grading. I think the buyer was pretty happy with it.
I'll have to dig out some more modern stuff to scan at some point.

That is indeed your coverless FF. I was briefly considering getting one of those recreation covers put on it at one time, but it didn't feel right (and would have felt disrespectful to the previous owner). And they told me they couldn't guarantee to keep the original staples.

The cover-ed one is the Golden Records reprint. The picture is using the art of placement to hide the obvious deficiencies of the books (#7 has a big piece out of the bottom right corner, for example).

I picked up 9 and 10 from Doug Sulipa, and 6 from mycomicshop and 7 at a local show. The rest were from eBay.

I'm with you on the grading issue. I'm not fussy about the grades on most of my books so long as I can read them with out fearing that they will fall apart in my hand. A complete run is still a complete run, after all. And you have a nice run. In the old forum I had a thread dedicated to my Marvel 70's monster and horror reprint runs that I was starting to add other stuff to just before the crash. I may post some of that stuff again too.
After completing the reprint books and my run of Fantastic Four 1-300, I've been kind of going for other things to satisfy the collecting bug.
One thing I picked up in the past year were these issues of Uncanny X-men. I already had 3 of the Neal Adams issues as part of work I did grading someone's collection for them, and realized that while I don't care about the 'old' X-men, I love the Adams issues and decided to complete those:
