It should tell you exactly the publishing date etc..

It will have the date when printed, what country printed possibly and might tell you what printing it is, second, third print.
You can also look at eBay to see if you can find a cover price of the $1.25 issue you have. A $1.25 price makes me think that your book was reprinted much later than the original printing in 1977.
