Great link, Aaron!
With limited exception, having a bar code or a newsstand version does not tend to affect value of the book. So don't fret it too much. It will only come into play in extremely rare, extremely valuable issues.

See CBR link. There were hundreds of thousands of Marvel comics with no UPC label. No extra value - no loss of value either. Oh well.
