I'm curious to hear how autographs increase the value of comics, and generally by what percent. Do the more autographs, and therefore the higher the rarity of the comic, increase the value?

I have a NM Secret Wars 8 that I got signed Mike Zeck, Stan Lee, and Christie Scheele. (confirmed/witnessed signing) And I wonder how much it's value is.

I was thinking about getting my Star Wars #1 signed by Mark Hamill. How would that increase the value??

THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT!

The comic is worth guide value. The signature is worth - what? For Mark Hammil maybe $20 to $50 retail (At least that is what the entertainer charges. )

If they both have value independently, do they have more value together, or less?

Some folks here like their comics pristine. I like an autograph myself, but how much it add to comic is partly sentimental value. Marv Wolfman is one of my favorite writers and I have a few books autographed by him. Probably worth more to me than to others.

As Ox noted, not a set standard. I would add to guide price for autograph. How much? Marv I am sure signed thousands of comics. George Perez has probalbe signed close to 10,000 as he often went to shows and LCS ten years ago. I have know Stan Lee to sign a DC comic - he will sign almost anything. Lot's of Stan autographs out there - but Stan is more desirable.

So I would add to comic value for signature - how much - you will have to decide for yourself.
